Awesome signing for arsenal but as beechy says they need a holding midfielder and have done for ages.

 

Wasn't wanted at Dortmund apparently because of his lack of discipline?Went missing and failing to turn up for team meetings was his downfall.I'm sure Wenger will bring him into line?🤔

What the hell was that? That was one of the worst performances from a 'top side' in a big game that I've ever seen. Did they manage to put more than 3 passes together in Spurs' half? Absolutely woeful. 300K a week Sanchez was almost as shocking as Pogba, but I always expect the latter to be awful when he's up against a good side. Christ. Was hoping for a good, competitive game this evening but Spurs made them look like Bury.

Is he worth £95M? Cost Leicester just £400k, granted he contributed a lot to winning the Prem.

Ali steals a wage for Tottenham. Seen them live 4 Times this season and he just strolls round the park whinging the whole way through, one good season and he’s become too big for his boots.

He didn't have his shooting boots on but otherwise he was excellent, and if Son wasn't so greedy he would have had two more goals to his name. He held the ball up superbly which brings the likes of Son, Alli and Eriksen into the game.

 

And to think some people rate Lukaku on the same level as Kane. Bewildering. Romelu is a slightly better Emile Heskey. 90 million :laugh:

Interesting comments from Wenger this morning Re European Greed is Good leagues. PSG in France, Bayern in Germany, Barca in Spain and City of course, all running away with their respective leagues. And also the biggest spenders in their respective leagues. A touch of sterility across the board.

 

Do you know I think it's slowly sinking in with Wenger that the more money you spend,the more games you are likely to win?

He needs to have a quick word with Pep and Jose.

It is becoming ridiculously predictable though isn't it?

Football is a business now as much as it is a sport and the days of teams going up through the leagues have long since gone.

There's a chance all three promoted teams could go back down as the gulf is huge, yet last year Huddersfield's reserves beat us comfortably, at a stroll.

 

I just can't see beyond MC for the next few seasons. Their spending power is formidable. And it's not just one expensive signing for them but 5-6, window after window.
