He managed to find another fifty odd million for another defender Howjy.How much is that he's spent on defenders now?

 

Went burnley today (my mate is a season ticket holder) city missed a few gilt edged chances but burnley were always in it and man citys defence never looked entirely comfortable - said to me lad burnley will have a goal in this as city actually ran out of ideas....

 

City fans were quiet throughout apart from the goal and a few chants,Burnley never stopped singing as their team have to fight for everything,,looks like pep might need to spend more +plus worth buying a few vocal fans that can remember the days when they had to earn a win and need support

Saw the game on TV and you could tell Burnley had done their homework on MCity: kept their shape and contained 'City's key players.

 

Just go to show you don't need 70% plus ball control to get results :smile:

very true Aussie,

City just got away with a few whilst playing out at the back but equally created a lot of openings they didn't seem to take advantage of...

 

Burnleys left back was solid and impressive you are right organisation and players buying into the manager can work wonders, last 20mins dyche pushed up a forward with another just behind and the wingers got up in support and city were rattled very good manager.

Is it just me or is MOTD a much better place for having Chris Houghton on it? He’s such a thoroughly nice man and always gracious, whether in defeat or victory.

 

Moaners like Wenger and José should take note

 

Agree future England manager and seems top bloke and probably brighton have the better chance of staying up out of the promoted teams

It is becoming ridiculously predictable though isn't it?

Football is a business now as much as it is a sport and the days of teams going up through the leagues have long since gone.

There's a chance all three promoted teams could go back down as the gulf is huge, yet last year Huddersfield's reserves beat us comfortably, at a stroll.

 

I just can't see beyond MC for the next few seasons. Their spending power is formidable. And it's not just one expensive signing for them but 5-6, window after window.

 

It wasn't that long ago that Swansea, Wigan, Bradford and more recently Bournemouth and Brighton have come through the leagues. So it still happens, but only usually when backed by very rich owners.
