Disappointed to see that Purkiss and Taylor have been offered deals as from what I've seen of them, they're not good enough. If they are signed, I hope it's just one of them and that they're signed as backup to another right back and as a bit of experience for younger heads of Gibbons etc.

 

Sad to see Reggie and Kiko go as I feel they could have proved to be decent options in League Two.

 

Eagles, Foley and Bikey need to be signed for us to have a decent chance of any success. Callum Guy would be a great addition to accompany the legs of Pugh or lack of effort of Tavares. Does this mean that Mbamba's going to get a run in the side or as backup?

 

From the looks of the forwards that are leaving, it'll be a 442 job with 2 of Forrester, Pope and Turner playing up front? If rumours are true and Walker comes back I'd like to see Turner go out on loan.

 

Really hope that we have some decent targets in our sites which MUST include an experienced goalkeeper. Not to bang on about ex-players but Neal would be a great shout if he's not in Fleetwood's plans. I'd go nowhere near Joe Anyon.

 

Chris Neal is under contract @ Fleetwood for one more season so forget him.

According to a friend of a friend Smith is staying for at least one more year. He is supposedly in the process of buying a house locally so that would indicate to me he isn't planning on going too far just yet.

I'd just like to post that I'm impressed with Mr. Brown's work so far, he's got rid of all the duffers he can and is looking to retain sensible choices. I suspect Yates is on the contract offer list on some sort of coaching basis with him being a back up player if needed. Ben Purkiss had a poor season but we know he can be better and should be good in L2.

 

The next stage is to continue to try and offload the very expensive cuckoo in the nest that is Mbamba (probably next to impossible given no one would want him at a third of his current salary) and recruit a sensible amount of good players to fill the gaps and leave us a squad of 22-24 with loan option top ups.

 

We know a decent goalie is important and Chris Neal would be great but we can't hang our hat on him and should recruit the first keeper of the required standard who is willing to join us.
