With no news yet on the retained list and Micheal Browns comments that he's seeing which players want to stay with the club it worries me that we may end up with a few second choices ?

For example if Purkiss is considered a better right back to Yates but wants to leave will Brown retain Yates ?

The same could be said for Forrester and Hooper etc and others within the team.

Surely he should have decided by now which players he wants to keep and offer a contract and release the others rather than waiting to see who wants to stay and trying to plug the back within the squad, especially if he wants to bring in 16 new faces ? Thoughts

There should be a lower price for season tickets if we keep Kelly and Hooper and a higher one for if we don't.

We are becoming a bleedy joke. It goes like this '' Do you want to stay?'' If the reply is 'Yes boss' it's goodie gumdrops ''you're retained''. If the reply is 'no I'm off to get a better deal'. Brownie says OK you're released.

Surely it doesn't take weeks on end to decide on a retained list. He's watched them all season and it's pretty clear to anyone with eyes linked without obstruction to the brain who the handful of useful players were and therefore would be next season. Just cut the deadwood, and start looking for replacements.

If he has told the players who he doesnt want then why not release those names... the none retained list... fans may not agree but its a done deal

I think that's exactly why there is no list and is the sensible thing to do.

 

I understand the need for a retained list to try and promote ST's and other clubs have had their list out last week, some even before that but we have to remember that Browny was only just appointed last week, with a budget to allow him to have talks with players.

 

Other clubs would have been planning for several months for this period whereas we haven't had that luxury due to uncertainties.

 

Feel it's going be a difficult summer whilst we try and play catch up.

It's May,Geo.Why is everyone in such a rush?Holidays are normally taken at season end.Also he would be identifying/ trying to sign players from elsewhere.

I think the thing is Howjy04 it is best to do your business early. We will be playing catch up, look at the fat one at Mansfield he has already signed two proven League one players in the last 24 hours.

By the time we get cracking we will be left with the dregs.

The reason there's no list is that Brow will offer contracts to anyone that wants to stay. The only ones that will be going are Brunos signings and that's if they accept pay offs. IMHO of course.

Surely he wouldn't countenance keeping the likes of purkiss. If he does, I'm taking my season ticket back!
