Garlick : Manager statement

He can't I don't think.

I'm sure there was a 25 year rent agreement in place when he moved the ground ownership.

Do you mean that he fixed the price for 25 years?

If so do you know the cost of the annual rent?

Wrong. We HAD the capacity to become a champinship club, but Smurthwait put paid to any chance of that happening.

We now have the capacity to play in none league football.

If by a miracle we can get a new owner, we have ground rent to pay and knowing Smurf he will keep raising it to extortionate levels.

As i have already posted, why would any owner worth their salt not purchase the stadium? I wouldnt want anyone owning the club without the ground.

That would be fine if Smurf would agree to a sensible purchase price with the right person/people.

Appointing brown wont bring fans back, we dont have the ability to attract "interesting" players or manager so that wont attract fans back, offering the possibility to perhaps buy a pie at half time wont do it, a ghost [at present] CEO wont do it either and the crap statement by smurf will do more harm than good... the only thing, initially, that could is a huge price reduction and the appointment of a manager who offers a little hope... not adams.

why are we on a downward spiral and what club isnt in debt?

We have the capacity to become a championship club, we will possibly have one of the biggest budgets in league two, regardless of who is in charge etc. it will be 1m+, we have some good quality youngsters on the books , looking at it half full we are a perfect platform for someone to take a chance on getting us (and their career) up there.

We are on a downward spiral because we have just been relegated and people who have had season tickets for 20+ years are not going to renew. Last time I looked we weren't replacing them with new young blood. We are saddled with a lot of poor players and have no spine under contract to rebuild around.

All i want is a reliable goalkeeper a back four who know how to defend,a midfield who gets up and down the pitch and adds a few goals. And finally two forwards who know where the back of the net is.I don't want a 18 year old kid to lead our attack on his own like last sunday in the most important match for the vale for years totally unexceptable to ask him to do it,but that is the managers fault and if he carries on with that idea get rid of him.

I think it's going to be another VERY tough 12 months ahead.

With a reduced budget, falling attendances, and a generally depressing atmosphere around the place life in Div 2 is going to be difficult.

We won't be one of the big spenders and more often than not teams that go down don't come straight back up, particularly if they've got no decent players.

Clubs like Swindon, Chesterfield, Coventry, Luton (perhaps), Tranmere (perhaps) and Lincoln will all have bigger budgets so that's at least 6 clubs with vastly superior spending power.

Until the Club is sold the future looks bleak.

We can't wait until a sale happens (sometime, never?) before appointing a manager. We need one in situ as a matter of urgency so that we can quickly go about finding those 16 players that we'll need to ensure our survival (at least) next year.

He explained: "There is a covenant in place insisted on by the Football League. In the event that the club is sold separately from the ground it would trigger a 25-year rental lease at a set rent that is considerably less than the market value."

They may not have enough money, but just to rent the pitch is madness, whereas to rent all the commercial facilities as well gives a chance of other income streams. It all depends on the terms, what is it worth to take the Vale out of Smurth`s control.

Thanks for the info.

It would be nice to though just how much 'considerably less' would be per week.
