Garlick : Manager statement

Don't envy the situation with the manager - should he go or stay. I keep thinking his own chosen team could he do it - may be he could. Then I think back to all the tactical errors - playing 1 up front when we need goals and think - get rid.

Looks like the camp is totally divided on this one.

That would be fine if Smurf would agree to a sensible purchase price with the right person/people.

There is a covenant in place by the council for 25 years. I think there is also a stipulation from the football league that he cannot charge more than £100,00 per season.

We need a manager who will have the full backing off every fan and galvanise the fans and that man is Gareth Ainsworth.

And it isn't just sentimental 'cause he's ex Vale but more for the job he's done in the league we are joining.

He's made Wycombe plenty of money from cup runs and player sales, he's had them around the play-offs for at least 3 seasons and he's used to working with a small budget!

We need stability in the league no more risks are needed. Let's get a steady manager in who knows league 2 and have brown as his assistant.

Brown would be poison as his assistant as obviously Bruno realised and froze him out.

It was the same situation when Dean Glover was assistant manager. Digging holes to bury the manager.

I'd look for a manager who had experience at a higher level and got a few promotions on his CV like Micky Adams did before he came to us.

For me we should be looking at the likes of Kenny Jackett, Nigel Adkins or Steve Cotterill. We would have to push the boat out to bring these types of managers in, but that is what we did with Micky Adams and the rest is history as the say.

At the end of the day the most important person at a football club is the manager, so we have to get it right this time after the last 3 disasters with opting for the cheapest option, which is why I'm not convinced at all with the likes of John Coleman or Gareth Ainsworth as it just seems like we are going for the cheap option again.
