Matchday Thread: Rochdale v Port Vale GAME OFF

Will our gradual improvement be enough for 3 much needed points? Rochdale without a home win at Spotland this year, no wonder it is only a £1, but will be surprised if the pies are only a bob. Don't think we picked up any injuries yesterday so no further worries. Let us hope that the stalwarts who can make the trip come back smiling.

I can't see us changing the XI that played yesterday.

The problem we'll have is that they'll be a bit more direct and physical up front, with Henderson and Andrew and we'll struggle against that physicality and aerial presence.

We're not playing that badly but we need lads like Thomas, Foley, JJ and Purkiss to be on their game, 100%, to get anything out of the match.

It's a tight, bumpy pitch and will be a battle.

I thought we played well yesterday and were unlucky not to win. We had more shots on target. They looked better organised and moved the ball well because they have played together all season. We can win at Rochdale and Southend. We are obviously vulnerable on the right side of the defence. Guy has clearly never played there and in the first 20 minutes we were really lucky to get away with that. He needs some emergency training in taking shape, where to show the winger, when to go forward to challenge and when to stay in shape, how not to leave space in behind. The whole back 4 need a session on organisation. I appreciate last weeks training was disrupted by storms.

But they did improve. Guy was also very effective as an attacking right back. I thought in the end, given the challenge given to him, he did very well, he grew into it. So to Rochdale. Sit in, be resilient, we can win.

Rochdale on a bad run so who would you want next a home game against vale a team that havent won a game this year and have only 1 away win this season. Our topscorer is smith with 4 its embarassing. We tried hard but theres very little quality in the squad. This will be a 2 1 loss i reckon.

Our top scorer is Jones with 10

Streete 6

Cicilia 5

Then smith 4

With the disaster of two transfer windows hanging over us , Smurfs counting his cash , Rookie acting boss and his interesting team selections and substitutions , suspensions and injuries. Dale 2 Vale 0

We're due a win.

Yes but Rochdale are as well, and our track record of helping teams with bad runs is all too obvious this season. But here is hoping for 3 points and moving up the table.

The Vale players are battling, but their mistakes keep spoiling their efforts, as the opposition always seem to score from them. Hope they have again practiced set plays - as this seems to be our downfall.

Anyone got any suggestions of travel for this? Any coaches being organised etc? Need to jump on one, will go for official as a last resort but if anyone's got any other ideas let me know.

Also, bit cheeky but if anyone's driving, I'll happily chip in money for petrol
