Well according to Ray Williams in the local paper we ought to be looking at possibly four new signings in the forward third of the pitch. Can't argue with that but the problem is at this time of the year the better ones have been snapped up and when you are desperate it's all too easy to make mistakes.

Doesn't Ryan Taylor's contract run out soon.would extend his contract and play him in midfield. If as expected Nathan Smith leaves in January we need to extend Remi Streetes contract ASAP as I am sure other teams may be interested.

He only mentions Knops and says he is happy with him in the back 4.

I'm not convinced with Taylor. He's actually shown very little of his skill/experience in matches but to his credit he may still be not fully fit. Those of us who expected such an experienced higher league player to walk in and strut his stuff have in the main been disappointed. I am sure he will be demanding a high wage and maybe our "new" manager could spend that money elsewhere? Just my opinion of course and I would love it if Taylor came into his own and developed again into a winner with us.

Ray Williams is the most negative person I have ever listened to, I don't listen to radio stoke for that reason now , even when we're winning he's moaning about something.

Not sure about that as Brown was negotiating this one before Brown got the job, it's the ones over the coming weeks that will show what you suggest I'd have thought.

I didn't like Ray's comments that the team were a bunch of foreigners early on in the season. I also don't like his constant negativity.

 

However, there is nothing wrong in what he has said in his sentinel and to accuse him of any foul play is unfair to Ray.

 

I really think we should be playing 5 - 3 - 2 and we need to sign a stiker, Jones, a box to box mid and a centre half as cover / replacement for Smith or Streete

What were you expecting from Taylor? Someone who could beat five men and put it in the top corner? I don't think he was ever a world beater when he was in his prime, I just remember his quality free kicks and delivery. Personally I think at right back he can't make much of a mark on a game, I think he should be centre midfield, get him on the ball and retain possession for us, I think that's a quality he could bring to us there. Someone steady on the ball. Plus he's got his great deliveries from dead ball situations.

Maybe so but what he's said about the team has been spot on this season imo.

It was his rant on radio Stoke that I believe he later apologised for, the fact that he tried and failed to name a team (without foreigners) when choosing his first 11 a few weeks ago and the fact he only named one in this article.

 

He's from another generation I guess, my grandparents weren't particularly tolerant of foreign people either sadly.
