Matured massively this season, harshly dropped and out the side after the Maidenhead game IIRC when he had a bad error near the end costing us a goal. Needed game time to settle and has done that, need to sign him up (is he under 24) I.e. We'd get a fee if he leaves end of season? (All be it a couple of bags of peanuts.

 

One positive at the minute against all the doom and gloom for the future is that we do seem to have some decent youngsters, Smith and Streete, Alnwick, Turner has potential, Jones if we can get him permanently.

 

Yesterday had to be one of our youngest ever league starting line ups! Excluding Taylor and Knopps I believe all were under 25.

Yep it's nice to see him developing because he looked like he was on his way out at one time, along side Smith we have one of the best CB pairings in the league but the poor guys get no protection from those infront of them particularly without Grant there but like i said in another thread we are missing our 4 best players and need try pick a few points up until they are back incidentally although I don't expect everyone to agree I think we miss Foley's work rate the most, I love the way he drove forward with the ball always positive.

Foley being out is one BIG reason we are not functioning as a Team at present. He may not get brilliant reviews each week but his "engine room" game is not being replaced by anyone else.

 

at his best Foley is a must for our Team and the sooner he returns the better as far as I'm concerned. Big fan of his.

 

 

I think de Freitas is getting there but there's a big gulf in the experience gap.

Absolutely. I blogged saying he deserved a new contract back in September ( http://www.onevalefan.co.uk/2016/09/now-smiths-signed-up-how-about-streete-and-co/ ). It really is in the club's interest to get one sorted before the January window. Otherwise, if he's only got a matter of months left on his contract and another club signs him we'll get pennies for him.

 

I'm really surprised the club haven't discussed it with him (Streete said last week there have been no contract talks).
