Where is this man? Bruno again stated yesterday he needs a winger and a striker.

 

If he'd signed better players in the summer he wouldn't now need even more signings.

 

We had three strikers on the bench yesterday (Cicilia, Pato, Forrester). Have 2 wingers that didn't even feature (Mbamba, Shalaj).

 

Bruno's summer recruitment was scatter gun and poor. One of the few foreign players to feature regularly, Tavares, seems to be coming under fire. He's played nearly every game but for a centre midfielder I can't recall one meaningful involvement.

Completely agree. Comes to something when the best players this year have a.) been British and b.) for the most part been those signed by his predecessor.

 

Tavares should be no where near the first team in my opinion.

The whole summer was shrouded in mystery, so we've no idea who found or signed these players.

 

Bruno played enough English football to know what's needed here, so either his judgement on about 8 players was seriously wrong or he's been given this squad to work with.

I liked Tavares at the start of the season, but he's turned into being even less effective than O'Connor was

O'Connor is twice the player and he'd walk into our current set-up, on one leg.

So too would the maligned Louis Dodds. Our recruitment in the summer was the worst I've ever known. At least 15 players on the books aren't remotely good enough.

I'm more than happy to disagree with you. It's my opinion that both O'Connor and Dodds are better players than Tavares. Feel free to disagree but both would get into this Vale side.

I'm close to making the starting XI currently. O'Connor and Dodds were right not the be retained

The fact that Dodds left despite being offered a contract and being in his testimonial year says a lot I think.

I expect alot of the fringe players who don't make the grade will be gone at christmas with the 6MONTH clauses I think have been put in some contracts

I hope these release clauses are as watertight as some people are saying they are.

Just before we signed Shalaj, lots of people were telling Smurf to resign Andoh. His response was that we need someone for the first team now and not someone who won't be fit until November.

 

Well, it's the middle of November now and how many minutes has Shalaj played?! FFS Smurf, swallow your pride and resign andoh(fitness permitting) or someone else of that quality.
