Therein lies the problem.... hardcore fans will seek the information the casuals wont, and its the casuals that need to be targeted.... marketing doesnt rely solely on what you do, its essential that you tell people what you are doing and keep it in the buyers mind as much as possible.

Word of mouth by the hardcore fans also helps.

So we should be happy with the 4,000?.... I doubt smurf would agree.... I certainly dont... its all relative as you say, bigger crowds, more spent in ground, bigger overheads... thats business

Just gone to get my ticket online and there's not even a mention of the game... is it pay on the gate? The club could literally not have done a worse job of promoting this if someone was being paid an incentive to keep people away.

I couldn't agree more. The more I think about this, the more I think there's something very wrong somewhere within the club.

A 2-year old could have marketed the offer more effectively.

This is the best offer price-wise to see us play in a meaningful fixture since the Burton 7-1 game. And what do we do.....absolutely zero promotion of the offer.

Unbelievable. One of the expert Vale fans in the fans eye view of the Stevenage match, in today's Sentinel, thinks reducing the prices to £12/£6 is not enough reduction. What does he want £3 and a BOGOF!!

Yeah, I saw that as well.but at least it's been in the sentinel now.

Leave Andy alone, he talks a lot of sense. Tenner in would have made it easy for the turnstile operators and keep it simple for the accounts department too, easy to count and less need for stacks of small change and fivers. 2000 people with a £20 note would require 6000 pound coins and 2000 fivers for example

He was simply making the point that £10 is much easier to manage on the turnstiles than £12. You don't need any coins in the float for the former - you need a mountain of them for the latter. It's just common sense really. Surprised you couldn't see that.

Edit. Sorry, RZ, hadn't seen your comment before I posted.
