FA Cup ticket prices this Saturday

£12 is a good offer, and the only thing missing is a big campaign to get people there. Maybe chuck in a voucher giving priority over everyone except ST holders should we get a 'big' cup tie where there is demand for tickets in a later round ?

That's a pie in the sky offer though considering we haven't had a really big cup draw since Spurs away in the league cup ten years ago.

The incentive is not there to intice anyone.

It isn't just a big club thinking about it - when we drew Shortwood there was only 1000 or so allowed in, I don't think there were enough tickets for away (Vale) fans.

If someone does not want to go it's up to NS and co. to find a way to entice them..whatever their reason for not going they are not going to be there unless a way is found to get them to go

And no I'm not suggesting opening up a stand just so a couple more people will be enticed to attend!!! :)

When you think about it, the lack of publicity for this offer is madness.

If no-one knows about it and doesn't attend on the premise they think they're saving themselves £23 then we could be in for a really poor crowd. That poor crowd (3k?) are only paying £12 or £6 per head. Allowing for a 80/20 split of full price and half price attendees, that would give us a gross take of £32,400.00

45% goes to Stevenage which would be £14,580.00 and we get the same.

A well-publicised offer may have seen a crowd of 4,500 or more.

The mathematical benefits of a bigger gate are pretty obvious.

There must be something lacking in the marketing & commercial department. When you think how cheap some marketing can be done for, it's really a very poor effort.

Could this offer not be put out through every appropriate outlet in Burslem and indeed beyond? Have we capitalised on being the only game in the Potteries this Saturday? Have all local schools been invited?

All been said before mate & agree with all of it, I'm pretty sure nearly every time we have an offer on, there are conversations about how it should be better publicized, but club just doesn't do enough, apart from a few in the promotion season I think.

I too wonder about publicity. I went to the local supermarket today and was talking about the game last saturday to a fella in there ,and asked him if he was going the cup game he said no. I replied i am for £12 its got to be worth it, he said £12 i think i will go.

It seems to me that many lapsed fans dont get to hear about these offers.

:Like it or not, the Sentinel is where most people get their info from either in print or on line and Vale have banned them from any press releases etc. Are we really surprised that the offer isn't widely known?

I believe the club have the email address of every season ticket-holder. I've received no e-mail about this deal.

Emails are virtually free to send. Had we all received the details, a lot of people would have spread the word...again, zero outlay with a possible huge benefit.

We really are miles behind even smaller businesses than us in terms of marketing and promotions.
