Matchday Thread: Sheffield United v Port Vale

We were lucky against Rovers and on any other day could have easily lost the game by two or three. We're absolutely dog **** away from Vale Park, and the worry is that we'll suddenly start to lose games at Vale Park as teams suss us out as Coventry did.

We're quite simply a mid-table side and will stay that way until we get another forward in, someone with experience, and also a decent wide player, as at the moment both Shalaj and Mbamba are clearly a million miles away.

We've been terrible away from home all season. Even last week when we won we were dominated and lucky to take home 3 points. We seem to go away and just sit and absorb pressure & hope to nik the odd chance here & there.

Why don't we just go there and play!? 1 up top is completely pointless, especially when we have 2 sitting midfielders. We carry absolutely zero threat. Not many times we'll get away with it like we did last week. Paying the price for negative tactics and set up yet again today.

A disappointing Saturday away from home yet again. I'd like see us go 442 away from home with at least 1 up top who can hold the ball up. That gives the foleys and Jones' a chance to get up the pitch and attack. At the minute they are completely pointless in this system.

Yep, that's about it. We have nothing to lose by going 4-4-2 for the second half to give their defence something to think about i.e Patto and Jones together. Attack, best form of defence!

Well it seems we thought last week was a good performance ( it wasnt we let them dominate the ball and game ),i saw this coming i tried tell folk on wonder of Vale it wasnt good enough.

Lets c if we can at least win second half ,three changes need be made at the break ,not that im there i aint but for those hearty souls who have and witnessed a no show by looks of it .

The tactics have been pathetic. Jones might has well not been on, ball bouncing off him all the time. Paterson non-existent. Hart another getting caught in position. They will score at least one more this half as Sharpe, Done and the fair-haired no 22 have run us ragged, yet they scored off 2 corners.

It's been difficult to knock Bruno so far really but... he's playing players out of position. He's got a left back on the wing, he's got a centre back at left back, he's got a striker out on the other wing. He's then got a lone striker in Patterson who thrives on the ball into feet, in and around the box.

It was there for everybody to see last week on the box, he's got players trying to pass the ball about at the back when under pressure thus gifting the opposition chances as we don't have the players with that kind of quality at this level.

Our away performances are enough for me to be a bit worried about Bruno, as any manager worth his salt should by now have realised that the system and set up away from home just does not work.

In defense of Paterson it's hard for a lone striker to get in the game, as soon as you get the ball there's two defenders around and no space, saw it with both the home and away striker last weekend.

Another argument in my view for going with two up front, even away from home, Bruno could go 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 if he wanted to pack the midfield.
