Matchday Thread: Sheffield United v Port Vale

I do worry that we've flattered to deceive a bit this season. Our lack of strength in depth is also worrying. Turner has leapfrogged Cicilia in the pecking order. What's the situation with Shalaj? We signed him in August. It's now mid October.

I think we would all have been chuffed with 7th at this stage bearing in mind the upheaval in summer. Let's get behind the lads on Tuesday Sheffield United had nearly 20,0000 there today, five times our crowd, five times our income. They will be there at the top at the end of the season and I still believe we will be as well. Keep the faith.

We really need some power up front to hold the ball up there and take the pressure off the defence. It just doesn't stick and keeps coming back time after time, which means we're constantly on the defensive.

Paterson isn't that player. I thought Cicilia could be, but he isn't. Forrester is good at it but has been out for a while.

I'd play Turner and Jones down the middle. Thomas to replace Hart if fit or Shelaj if he isn't. That will give us more mobility upfront. Amoros had an excellent game today should be the holding player. I would put Grant as the most forward thinking midfielder as I suspect Foley, who had a good game today won't be fit for Tuesday or next Saturday. I'd try Periera in a midfield role which is his natural position and let's see if he can contribute.

Three points from two away games isn't a bad return with this week's home games to come.

Now stop being sensible FUA.:wink:Bruno out,no Plan B,Smurf out,our away support is ****,the players are cowards.Today we got battered by a better side.Believe or not we can't win every match.Whoever finishes above Sheffield Utd this season will win the league.

Their fans said last week that they had had a shaky start with new players gelling, but had now settled down, very prophetic.

Our target is the POs, not like theirs which is the top position or at least promotion, whereas we have not the depth of squad either, nor the gates and budget they have.

What about Coventry at home and Bury away.
