Neil Redfearn wages offer highlighted in The Guardian

An article on Saturday highlighted that we were after Neil Redfearn...for less than £40k per year...

"Then there is the story that reached me earlier in the summer about the vacancy for a new Port Vale manager. Neil Redfearn was interviewed and Port Vale, mid-table finishers in League One, liked what they saw. The talks broke down when Redfearn heard the salary was £40,000 a year – less than the kit man might earn at many Premier League clubs"

Seems an absurdly low salary offer had we been serious.

Slightly off topic here, it's interesting to see that agent Jonathan Barnett (mentioned at the top of the article) is desperate to see the cash-rich Premier League moneyball continue (and to continue to line his own pockets).

He clearly cares nowt about the greater game and the greater good.

For those who may have forgotten... Jonathan Barnett is the odious **** who managed the Steve McPhee transfer. The same Jonathan Barnett of Stellar Group that said - ""Port Vale are a two-bob operation and we are a major company. Their concerns, they can stick up their arse."

Charming man...

They're probably called "Senior Attire Consultant" rather than kit-man in the Premier League.

Probably just like the people who work at Subway are called a 'Sandwich Artist'

Also Rob, of course he's not going to care, he's a businessman & a promoter, that 3rd paragraph just shows how much of a superstar he thinks he is. Massive ego & paid inflated wages, just like the footballers he promotes. The bigger the deals & wages, the more he gets paid.

So yes, a complete ****

I think I'd have preferred the manager we have now though. Maybe if he wants higher wages, he could go & be a kit man? His record as a manager is crap, far worse than Bruno's.
