Any managerial appointment has a risk but stating the obvious if this guy is appointed the Vale will either do better, the same or worse than last season but my concern is that if it is worse it will be very bad and a swift trip to the conference is a likely result.

 

IMHO Ribiero is a high risk appointment and for a club that recently the Chairman put up for sale and wanted out, has lost its manager and assistant manager and some backroom staff, its captain may leave and has lost many of its best players this is not the time for a high risk appointment. In that interview Smurf talked from the heart whereas he should be talking and thinking from the head.

 

One characteristic of clubs that plummet down the football league is instability from the chairman to management staff to the players and PVFC ticks all those boxes at the moment, add to that a chairman who appears unsure and even confused, it doesn't auger well.

My concerns too.

 

Which is why it baffles that people seem happy to see the majority of the squad leave in the hope that we will replace them with better players. All against the backdrop of an unstable club, with a chairman who wants to sell the club and professes to have hatched a 'reduced budget' plan to oust our manager and a host of players.

 

A foreign manager is a risky appointment at the best of times I feel. But we have no appointment in place with pre-season training only 2 weeks away and we need a lot of new players to arrive too. Uncertain times.

In which care there are lies, damn lies and statistics as we haven't been at this level for all that time so it's misleading.

 

It's also in the poorest league 1 there has been for a long time.

 

In which case,let's all hope it is a poor league next season.That might just give us a chance of staying up.I suspect it will become very apparent fairly quickly that Rob Page was doing a pretty good job.

O,well only six days to go before new manager is named. or caretakers glover and brown, this is not a dig at brown very good player for is age, but back up if smurfs candidates let him down on Tuesday.

Yeah. That season we had Danny Glover and Kyle Perry up front we could have got 70 odd points if we'd been in League One instead of League Two.

I went to a Christening the other week and we were invited to go to Chasetown FC afterwards.In the function room there are 2 framed Vale shirts,Slater on one,Perry on the other.One the same wall was a load of photos of the cup match.Apart from that we had a good day.:laugh:
