Rumour has it Cameron also put £15,240 into an ISA to avoid paying tax.....Shocking. #corbynclutchesatstraws

I am no supporter of Cameron, but wouldn't anybody do the same.

Surely every one takes steps to pay as little as possible without doing anything that is illegal.

If any person could do something to lower their income tax code I am sure that they would. The government wastes Millions of working people's hard earned £'s by giving it to Europeans, alcoholics and druggies.

Great idea,I hope she tells her parents not to leave her any gifts in her inheritance as well?

Where are Tom amd Jerry's tax returns by the way?

She won't be accepting any proceeds from 'the right to buy' house her parents bought.Possibly?

Jez can't get the paperwork together. You really couldn't make it up.

Embarrassing,embarrassing,embarrassing.

We can agree or disagree on where govt wastes money but for me it's fair to say that the govt effectively has a contract with the tax payer to try to spend money wisely...break that contract and they at best get voted out, at worst there would be mass riots and withholding of tax..many precedents in recent and less recent history.

Seems like a fair point although I'm unsure about the reference to “what influences” there were on people in public life...that's very subjective as to whether someone is 'influenced'or not. Basically perhaps anyone elected (parliament, local govt, union officials etc) should have to reveal all

Maybe the dog ate it

But seriously whilst him not having a copy to hand isn't a big thing in itself you'd have thought he and his people would have ensured that it was readily available before calling on others to produce theirs..looks amateurish

Did he leave it at Diane Abbott's?

The PM and Chancellor and Boris clearly have their tax affairs in order. They make an excellent well above average contribution of tax to the coffers. The only person with an irregularity appears to be Corbyn who failed to meet the deadline and received a fine. As with everything he does pretty much he sets a poor tone from the top in terms of leadership, is out of step with public opinion which is focusing on tax compliance presently and he shows incompetence in managing his affairs. The PM job is decision after decision requiring absorption of information and meetings throughout a 24 hour cycle. Enormous pressure. He would be a catastrophe from management and political perspectives. But fortunately he is likely to only ever be leader of a party starting to die.

Regarding Farage he's positioned himself on this as 'where will it end?'..he has a point I guess and he should not be judged as having something to hide just cos he's not publishing his.

It would probably be better if our elected representatives (MPS, councillors, union leaders, senior civil servants etc) published their returns.

Agreed JA. I think it's all a bit daft to be honest, but I'm fairly sure if the boot was on the other foot, he would be squawking away with his 9/10ths of a pint of Spitfire in his hand.
