When the second goal went in, Sky commented that Port Vale's away record was a bit of an issue - something of an understatement you might think.

Our away record and our dismal lack of goals mean we are only ever going to be a mid table side. Only 5 teams have scored fewer than us and 3 of them are in the relegation places. It's been a problem since the start of the season. We know it, Page knows it, Smurf knows it but we've done nowt about it.

If we get new owners I just hope they've got a few bob to bring in a striker.

they are completely right but i dont think the teams form can be fixed by just bringing in a single player

vale are punching above their weight at the moment, if we don't sort out the striker/goal scoring issue than I fear for next season.

You're right, yewth. Some big teams - the likes of Pompey, Plymouth and Oxford are coming up next season, with Bolton and Charlton looking certs from the Championship, so it's going to be more competitive than ever.

I made the same point as the poster above a few weeks ago that a characteristic of teams in the relegation area is a lack of goals, I realize Burton haven't scored many but if you don't score goals you can't win matches and get three points, 1 win and 2 losses out of 3 games is better than two draws and 1 loss points wise.
