Took us from 18th in league 2 to 9th in league 1.

Had an early season blip and left.

Now he gets slated by the supporters.

Some of you have short memories.

And whe you are banging on about Pages football being the best and most entertaining in years, may i remind you of our promotion season under Micky which was quite magical with the most enterprising forward play we have seen this millenium.

Goodluck in your next chapter Micky.

"I would have him back in any role at the club except as manager. Personally feel he should have a stand named after him. As should Rudgie" (TJHValiant)

That's the beauty of a forum... opinions can differ by 180 degrees.

No way would I want him back in any role, and I don't believe he was anywhere near enough a 'legend' to have a stand named after him.

As they say, it's all about opinions.

It wasn't so much Micky Adams was a legend but the period of Port Vales history during those troubled times.

Where has he been slated? Most comments on here recognise the job he did but also realise that he couldnt take us any further, for example you missed out his last season in league 1, wasnt as high as 9th was it?

A season ain't 6 games.

How many managers in this day and age would walk away from a contract, does anybody think Moaninho etc would?

Good luck to Micky and I hope he does well in the future. He will always be special, as he helped the club rise again from almost extinction. The promotion year was ,as ST said earlier ,really exciting home AND AWAY!!To name a stand after him or have him back? No,let's move on.Ater all the great John Rudge hasn't been recognised at the club SO FAR!!!!!!!

The fact is that he still struggled in the start of that season and most on here wanted him gone... He should have left in the summer really when he seemed 50/50 and that his heart wouldnt be in it anyway. Credit to him for walking away.
