How on earth was that a high risk game? And as Jacko says their fans were mingling with home fans in the shop, car park and on Hamil Road after the game. I followed 5-6 of them up the Hamil afterwards, wearing their red & white shirts and causing no bother whatsoever.

The police presence was totally out of proportion.

 

The next time there's a sale on at M&S or a big bowls match at Burslem Park then I think they should bring in the riot police just to make sure.

It really was farcical and they knew exactly how many fans they had there by 3.10 - very very few.

When walking to the game down hamil road we saw 5 police bikes escorting 1 mini bus with 2 police officers on board with about 15 away fans on it with a riot van behind! absolute joke!!!! what was the point in the fencing? when we came out of the ground there was 3 riot vans parked in a line at the side of the fence utter waste of money! Their response will be interesting - if there is one. Their intelligence was a joke last season and more so this year. They stuff us two ways, first of all with their overtime bill and secondly depriving the social club of income.

Norm should now be demanding an urgent meeting with the PCC and Chief Constable. There's no way Vale should have to pay for this sort of overkill.

It sounds like its the CC who is the issue, but the PCC should now kick **** as the CC is wasting public funds. This is where if you get the pressure right things could change.

 

I think fans need to ask their PCC wby he is allowing the CC to waste their money on policing a football match when they can't be bothered to police the local streets.

 

If I was Smurf take them on. If they close the ground, let 5k riot. Then the police will have a big bill to pick up as they have to cover riot damage costs as well so I believe.

They weren't incompetent, they were criminal. Money grabbing scam artists.

 

The more coverage this and it certainly warrants more coverage the better.The incompetence and bias involved here is shocking.Mr ellis is way out of his depth and its time for him to go.He has one chance and one chance only to redeem himself and gain himself some credit.That chance will be to turn up at a SC meeting.
