Would you give him a new contract?

 

I'd like to see him given at least a season with his own players. If we do change, then it would be extremely hard on him, given where we were when he took over and the lack of proven managers out of work.

No question in my mind that Rob Page deserves a contract. I'd give 2 years.

Reservations about the fact that he rates some players in the squad that should have been dropped some time ago yet won't give others a chance. I think he is the manager that will just have us treading water.

 

It's hard to see any real evidence of his ability in the transfer market when you're never sure who is behind signings.

I think he has done well points wise and results wise. However Im undecided because the football isnt exactly exhilarating and I dont like how he has his favourites, team selection wise it would be a no.

I think he deserves 12 months to see how he might reshape the squad.

He's done ok after replacing Adams, when we were in dire straights, and made us almost safe.

I don't really think we could have expected a lot more from him.

Everyone has their faults and he is learning as he goes along. But most people in the game speak highly of him and he should get longer.

He still doesn't fill me with confidence, although he has done well to get Vale up the table this year.

However , L1 is not very good this season, with Bristol City, and maybe Preston, the only outstanding sides.

Give him a 1yr. contract and let's see what happens then.

I'd stick with him, results have been very mixed but I'd give him another one year contract to see what he can do, he needs to make some big decisions though regarding players and the back room staff, we shall see.

Of course he should be given a chance.Who else could have done better taking over from Adams?Some big calls to be made in the summer but its Smurf who is my main concern ie giving him the resources to keep the better players and getting rid of some of the rubbish left by MA.

He's done well overall really. I think at times he's too defensive in the way he sets the team up but then again we don't have a great defence to say the least so perhaps that has a lot to do with it. He's learning all the time himself and I think he'll make a decent manager at this sort of level. Worth sticking with in my opinion.

 

Every manager has his favourite players. The next Vale manager after Page will have.
