I think BK has taken a big gamble.

 

He's been at Sunderland & Wycombe where it's not worked out for him. Then he came to Vale & was excellent. Had he signed for us he'd be guaranteed 40-50 games next year, he knows the manager & players. Had he had a good season, I'm sure he'd then have moved into the Championship.

 

As it is, he's gone to an equivalent club, larger gates aside, to work with a manager & players he doesn't know, to a new area even further from Essex. I hope it works out for him & I'm sure he'll be getting more money there but in the long term I think it's very risky.

Disagree, but losing a player who we wanted and had on loan last season to a team that finished below last season is a massive blow. I do think the situation with Adams not signed yet is having a massive effect on our pre season preperation, it should have been sorted months ago.

Well it's had no effect on Dickinson signing or Micky being able to sort out a pre-season programme so in the grand scheme it's had a small effect if any at all.

It's seems to be effecting ST sales which in turn effects the budget.Unprofessional,pathetic statements from the club on the issue don't help either.I also think that people are losing trust and faith in Adams.

There is a strong possibility that if anyone had wanted dickinson, offered him more money and a 3 year contract he would have taken it, just like knott or adams or anyone else for that matter... whether the long drawn out process of adams signing has affected or will affect player decisions is speculation at best... there is also a strong possibility that adams has sorted the preseason because he is still under contract and thats his job.

Correct me if I am wrong but are not the odds related to the money bet on each club, surely early days, dependent upon signings at all clubs and maybe positive vibes these will change.

There is that, but the fact that we only have 7-8 recognised players under contract doesn't help proceedings either. Although, having said that, Darby, Doyle, Reid and Meredith are set to sign new deals apparently - with new signing Gary Liddle set to be announced early next week.

 

In regards to Knott, obviously my knowledge of him is limited, merely because I have never seen the lad play. But on the face of it, it looks a promising signing. He seems to have done relatively well with you last season, and I know your vast majority aren't particularly happy about him joining us, so that's a promising sign too. This signing magnifies our intentions of becoming a younger, more attacking side. So like I've previously said in recent weeks, we won't be that hoofball team you all like to make us out to be anymore.

You don't know that it had no effect for certain. For all we know it may have had an effect in his decision. Time to move on now anyway and forget about knott. Sure we can find someone as good/ better. Possibly cuvelier.
