There is that, but the fact that we only have 7-8 recognised players under contract doesn't help proceedings either. Although, having said that, Darby, Doyle, Reid and Meredith are set to sign new deals apparently - with new signing Gary Liddle set to be announced early next week.

 

In regards to Knott, obviously my knowledge of him is limited, merely because I have never seen the lad play. But on the face of it, it looks a promising signing. He seems to have done relatively well with you last season, and I know your vast majority aren't particularly happy about him joining us, so that's a promising sign too. This signing magnifies our intentions of becoming a younger, more attacking side. So like I've previously said in recent weeks, we won't be that hoofball team you all like to make us out to be anymore.

Only time will tell if your new style and players gel. Only thing that bothers me about Bradford City is when people call them Bradford, a completly different team in the 3rd North in the 50s.

Just hope Doug loft and Chris Lines sign their new contracts soon or else we need some new midfielder. Doug loft is unlikely because his family want a move down south but he hasn't ruled out a stay so never know. and Chris Lines situation on new contract : just depends if bigger wages make him go elsewhere.

Wait and see what happens. Do we actually want players at the Vale who are only here for the money or would rather be elsewhere? No-one is indispensable and there are plenty of players out of contract who would jump at the chance to play.

I'm sure Griff would have jumped at the chance of another contract, but we know (and I suspect he knows) he's not good enough for L1. It's quality we want. IMHO Knott is quality, so is Loft, so is Lines but we've already lost one and another looks like he's going.

 

To lose all three would be a calamity unless someone as good or better comes in.
