Crewe - Are they gonners?

I've always thought (& hoped) they'd survive this season but looking at the L1 table now I think they may go. Lose to Shrewsbury on Friday and I think they're gone. With their abysmal GD I think they will need 49pts minimum and it's beginning to look a tall order.

It looks very much as though Crewe will go now. However I expect them to come back up in a couple of years at the outside as long as they stick to their principles.

Having your top scorer banned for three of your last four games isn't ideal either.

They'll both go - Crewe and Shrewsbury.

Their fixtures are difficult and they'll fall short.

I think it's a shame as we'll lose two 'local' derbies and I'd rather play them home and away than Scunthorpe and Rochdale.

We could really do with Shrews, Crewe and Notts County staying up and 'Dale, Chesterfield and Burton coming up.

Remember those Crewe fans on radio stoke not long ago saying that they would finish higher than vale. How things change ey! Not bothered if they go down can't be doing with them, won't even affect the home crowd as they hardly bring any fans anyway.

It would be a shame since they are a well run club with a young manager who supports youth and is a tactical genius, playing football the "right" way but they are still lower in the league than Vale

Agree. Always quite liked Crewe but changed my opinion after the Vale park game.

 

They were terrible winners that day. Neil Baker in particular really got my goat as did the fans on Radio Stoke gloating over their 'cup final' win.

 

They're a bit of a parasitic club anyway in that they're very poorly followed away so not like we'd lose a big away following.
