I don't think agents count as football debts - they don't come under the league's umbrella. We hadn't paid agents late last year, Smurf said we couldn't afford to pay them yet, but we didn't get an embargo then. It will be another club for something, maybe to do with loan players or gate receipts from cup games or something similar.

 

I guess that narrows it down then. I suppose as far as cup games go, it would only be one of the home games as the opposition would dish out the money for games at their grounds. As we were able to bring players in during January it would suggest then that it would most likely be one of the later cup games - either Plymouth (5th Jan) or perhaps more likely Brighton (25th Jan).

 

In terms of loan signings there have been Cuvelier, Knott and Grimmer. Is it a coincidence that Grimmer went back today? Or could it be something linked to Cuvelier (perhaps Vale disputing a payment after he got injured in his first game)?

 

Whatever it is, it's hugely embarrassing and I would think we really need a complete sort-out of the staff at Vale Park and ideally the appointment of an experienced CEO to run the club.

That was my initial thought...either way we're turning into a laughing stock...I'm gobsmacked that Smurf has been as successful as he has in business....I've never witnessed such a symbolic display of incompetency.
