Would have a proper clear out . Get rid of Yates, Davis , Chilvers, Shuker, Dodds, Taylor, Mohammed,Lloyd, Tomlin, Griffith. All not good enough if we want to finish in the top eight next season

 

I agree with most of that, although aren't Tomlin and Dodds still contracted with us next season.

 

Having players like Yates and Griffith as regulars in this league is bewildering and are two positions that really need improving. To not take that opportunity this summer would be a poor and somewhat lazy decision IMO.

Are any of the development squad good enough for a contract as squad players for next season if micky not sure on any why not give them a game or two now with this season more or less over

I think we've looked at our best this season when we've kept the ball down and passed it. On a lot of these occasions, either Knott has been on the pitch or Lines has been playing in an advanced role. If we can sign Knott and Cuvellier, I think the only other area that will need strengthening is defence. Something like this next season and I reckon we'd be in with a fighting chance of the play offs:

No way. One of the good things about the vale squad is we have a good nucleus due to a few years of stability. I'm not saying that some players don't need to be moved on, but certainly not to the extent that you do. I'd say about 4 players out and 6 in. Too much change and we'd be more likely to be looking down the table than up - regardless of who we bring in.

The likes of mohammad, chilvers, shuker, griff, tomlin, dodds have offered little this year and replacing them with better would not mean us gettng worse.

Getting back on topic:

 

A player who'd I reckon we could definitely bring to the club is Jimmy Phillips. The tricky winger has had a breakthrough season at Burton, has chipped in with a couple of goals and plenty of assists as the Brewers have enjoyed another great season. Local lad (came through the ranks at Stoke), only 24 and looks to have filled out in the last 12 months or so and become a proper player. Would be able to supply Pope/Hugill with decent balls into the area, and freshen things up in the wing areas.

 

Attracting interest from Sheff United and Chesterfield to name just two, but has links to this area and would definitely be open to a move.

Wow Sheffield utd must have a class A midfield then. Just looking at him and knott in centre mid though I think we will get muscled out especially in the air

there are quite a few players who need to go Dodds, Mohammed, Shukar, Chilvers, Taylor. Williamson frustrates me but I can see us releasing him and him scoring a sack full elsewhere. Tomlin has been a major disappointment!

Yes. Tends to always have a great game against us, though Crewe fans seem to think he blows hot and cold like many wingers in this league.

Not a new player as such but how about Billy Paynter?

 

I've no idea of his contract situation but he was linked with Crewe on loan this season.

 

If we get him fit, I reckon he'd score goals.
