New players

yorky valiant

The bottom line is he has put them in his squad and trusted them and like many other young players given them their debuts. He's always said if players are good enough they will play, if he didn't rate Johnson he wouldn't run the risk of him being sub keeper. If he didn't rate Hughill he wouldn't have signed him, the bottom line with him is that he needs to sort his stamina out.

Morsy was given his debut by Micky and then had a prolonged run in the side last season until his discipline cost him and us, Grimmer was a great signing etc.

Completely disagree. He only plays young players if they're good enough.

He does nothing to help and nurture young players who may have a future in the game but need the right guidance

Despite jmw winning his accolade you refuse to credit him on a great season for vale yet the fact morsy MAY win an inferior award at Chesterfield makes him a great player all of a sudden?
Who is saying he is a great player? Certainly not me but surely he was worth a decent new contract.

Yep the same one who Micky gave his debut too and a prolonged run in the side as I said prior to his misdeameanours! ;)
I think you mean misdeameanor . For getting sent off with a poor tackle which Loft repeated a couple of games later.

One was called a coward one got straight back in the team.

That was the 3rd time with Vale that Morsy had done it though. It was Lofts first time. But you know that already.

The Morsy & Burge love ins are funny.

When Burge left last year, if you listened to some posters, he was the next Scholes whereas I never really rated him. End result is he signs for Newport County having been a free agent for a while.

Morsy was the next Bryan Robson according to some. End result he has a good season at Chesterfield in League 2.

When was the last time MA let a player go & they played at a higher level?

I think in general he knows who is up to it & who isn't.

I think his transfer record over both spells with us is very mixed. Partly the reason why none of them go onto play at a higher level was because they aren't very good, yet he signed them in the first place!

I think you can say the same of most managers. Look at the dross Fergie has left behind, and some of his very expensive flops. Dalglish spent £35m on Carroll. It happens. MA is no different than most.

Gregory is up for a move and he's attracted interest from Cardiff,Blackburn and Notts County. He wants to be a full time professional instead of a sparky and a part-time player with Halifax.

Lee Gregory would be great signing, but a lot of clubs will be thinking the same. The problem is, of course, that Halifax will want a fee and we have no money. This is going to dog our pre-season and I can't see Micky, or whoever is the manager, being able to make many signings unless we have a big clear out, which I don't think will happen knowing Micky's predilection for sticking with players he knows.

No, but I think we would have done better with Morsy instead of Griffith.

I now await the usual folks saying I must miss what Griffith brings to the team...

But Morsy could do what Griff has done this season AND pass the ball :D
