The port vale badge that has been on the shirts and other merchandise for the past 20 plus years is not owned by Port Vale and N S it is owned by a solicitors

It looks to me like it was owned by the old company "V2001" and the solicitors the ones who registered it for them. I don't think there's anything to worry about.

If you read it carefully the wording for the solicitors is preceded by "c/o" and just gives the address of the Owner's solicitors.

The Owners were Port Vale (Valiant 2001) Football Club Limited and as they went **** up its "property" became the property of the new owners, as did the ground, the floodlights, the bogs etc,

When Norm bought the "old Company" it was not written that the ownership of the old crest was retained by the defunct Co.

If it had been, an injunction would have been taken out LAST year to stop the New Co using the crest.

Was that why they changed it? I doubt it because as someone else said when V2001 went bust the administrator took it over and it would have been sold to Smurf along with the rest of the club.

 

More likely it was a wish to break with the recent past and join with Vale's heritage.

The solicitors named on the case details would have been the lawyers who filed the Trademark with the Intellectual Property Office or the clubs current solicitors or both.

If there is a new badge then PVFC may have applied for a Trademark if they deem it worthwhile, I don't know if they have or not.

 

Trademarks cost money, the cost of filing & lawyers fees etc. The only ways to make money out of a Trademark is if someone wants to use your Trademark and you have it protected you could ask them to pay for the privilege or if someone uses your Trademark (or something very similar) without your consent then you could sue them but this would cost money and a win and subsequent compensation are not guaranteed.
