  1. If he has played his last game for the club , I shall remember his goals at Exeter and Swindon which got us to wembley , where he scored again of course . He was a sublime player , had the ability to play at championship level , but something was lacking somewhere , cant put my finger on it though . Best wishes for the future James .

  2. Valid question - how did it come to this? I stood in Cambridge Utd's pothole strewn car park this week, watching my car being washed and looking around at the portakabins, occasional skip and other assorted junk, not to mention their second rate ground and asked myself the very same question. This season, in addition to Okenabirhie, Cambridge added Ahadme (top scorer on loan from Ipswich), Kachunga, Kaikai and Lyle Taylor. These five have scored 33 goals for them in 128 appearances, goals that look virtually certain to keep them up. Last game, ironically, they put three past Wigan. Cambridge have smaller attendances than we do - and I infer, a smaller budget - and yet they had seemingly little difficuly in adding forwards to their squad having lost Smith and Knibbs to Reading in the summer. So we are entitled to ask some searching questions about striker recruitment. Cambridge are a well managed club, a community club, and they have an unrelenting focus on what happens on the pitch first and foremost. To me, therefore, our owners have got to have a serious look at where their priorities lie. This season may be too late (let's hope and pray not) but next season needs a complete change of focus. If not, we can expect more of the same.

  3. Spot on lad the striker issue is baffling one , I believe the F word aimed to,high and went after championship standard strikers and was out bid , he said he went after the top striker in League 2 and was out bid . Really stinks all that does you can smell ode de bull coming from his mouth . but even more puzzling was the choice to play wing back system and recruiting one who has hardly played , then not recruiting at least 2 as cover . The whole process the F word implemented in respect of strikers + wing backs was faitally flawed . I believe Carol or Matt needs to explain the recruitment shortfalls which ultimately has caused our relegation to league two

  4. 1,400+ Valiants tomorrow. I salute your dedication to the cause. Absolutely incredible support after the last 12 months - more than 20% of our average total home gate and I dare say more than 25% of our average home support.

  5. He only scored 4 goals in 27 games last season. This season he has only scored 3 or 4 goals and missed about 3 months due to injury again. Yes he did well in the 2021/2022 season in league 2 but I'd be releasing him, not even worth a pay as you play deal either.

  6. Damn and blast, always more hope of a goal when he was on the field, the most skillful forward we have and likely to create something out of nothing. He will be a big miss for the run in.

  8. We let our top scorer go and did not replace with an equivalent. Then resigned a forward we know is injury prone and does not score enough anyway at L1 level - panic resigning at that. Brought in a reserve striker from rival club Bristol Rovers who they let go obviously because he does not score enough. Brought in another striker who is similar to what we had - big, strong, but who was months away from fitness. Did give opportunity to Dipepa but although he's ready now, he wasn't at the start of the season. None of this is good at all. We've ended up with a platoon for attackers who don't score enough goals but the evidence to indicate that would be the case was very present in historical records. Fair dues, Chislett showed promise quickly and Garrity was a good retention. But in the present moment, it's not over until the fat lady sings. With better organisation we may still have enough to stay up.

  10. In Sinai, Moses first encountered God in the form of a burning bush. "I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt". God's voice called out to him (Exodus 3.7). God then charged Moses to lead the Israelites out of bondage and bring them to the Promised Land. That went well? Anyway, I'm God for the weekend and I'm charging Darren Moore to lead the players out of Wigan after he's managed them to get 3 points.

  11. It shows how bad we are when we’re relying on uchi to get us goals how did the owners let it come to this

  12. I still think he’s creating more than the other options. That isn’t great granted. But I don’t think now is the time to drop our 2nd top scorer / player with most assists. When the alternative is someone like Weir, Chislett for me has to start

  13. To be fair to Sang and Grant they are not fullbacks or wingbacks, but neither is Plant . Suppose it demonstrates the mess DF created and Moore is having to sort .

  14. Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes performing the Etta James Blues & Soul classic, "I'd Rather Go blind". Her voice and the guitar playing are sublime. Wonder how you get a ticket to those gigs?

  15. Be careful what you wish for? He’s scored 7 goals in two years.

  16. Think he'll be released ( again). Still probably played twice the amount of games of a certain ' defender ' who still has a year left . A very gifted player blighted by injury at Vale but played a big part in us getting promotion and gave us that goal at Derby .

  19. Main problem with recruitment and ultimately a striker may have been many overlooked because they did not fit our style of one dimensional play and the so called matrix.

  20. So it looks like it's the last we have seen of Wilson in a Vale shirt now,so it's back to the old striker hunt,we will have Loft and Dipepa(unless a big bid comes in) so dependant on how he wants to play next season we are going to need 3 more strikers in that's for sure

  21. Too many shots off target and worst of all he injures the spectators.

  22. Get gone 👋🏻 Never forget his league 2 heroics but my god he’s struggled at this level & more injuries than Darren Anderton 🏥

  23. I think that is really sad news about a great player but I fear we won’t see him again in a vale shirt as his consistent run of injuries mean they probably won’t offer him a new contract at the end of the season and that means there is too much pressure on ikpaezo who in my professional opinion as a podiatrist has been rushed back too quickly

  24. My rose tinted glasses indicate a massive 2-1 win for the mighty Whites. Obviously this depends on us getting the first goal as I am struggling to think of us coming back from a goal down all season.

  25. Apart from basically the first month of the season which performances will still debatable, Crosby was dire all the way through Plant never got injured until the start of December and Crosby hardly picked Clarke even when he was fit & available

  26. Our manager has turned out most productive attacker in Chislett,to a bit part player stuck out on the wing tracking back and trying to tackle. We've scored 8 goals with a minus 10 goal difference in 11 games. Chislett has completed 90 minutes only twice and come off the bench 3 times. I honestly think we've got worse under Moore

  30. Wilsons a ok player . Still think he was going through motions in most games yet last fri he seemed more at it than usual then he gets injured says it all really. We thank him for his efforts though at times he as shone but in my opinion not enough times especially in L1 . Wish well at next club All the best to him never forget league 2 campaign he was excellent but league 1 too much of a step up for him along with many others in fact list be very small for players who have stepped up.
