I suppose the longer it goes on the less chance there is of their signing or am I just a pessimist?

I'd like Loft to sign and I still believe Morsy has something to offer as he matures.

Griff I like but I'm not sure he's the type we need if we are looking to push on. I would have thought the likes of Birchall could do a similar job.

Maybe, as Grew indicated, the coming week will see more progress on this front.

I spoke to Griff at a wedding last weekend, he didnt seem overly optimistic about joining Vale, this may be more to do with he is under contract at Orient though

I would hope that MA had given them 31/5 deadline to decide what they're doing.

Loft and Morsy, no news. Griff is an Orient player under contract, we either bid for him or they let him go to reduce their wages bill, or he carries on as normal.

Not too fussed about Griff but I would be very disappointed if Loft and Morsy didn't re-sign. I still feel that the latter has an awful lot to offer with the right coaching.

Likewise, both are needed unless we have a big influx, even then squad positions and potential are factors.

Morsy is the kind of player that, if he were at Crewe, would be nurtured and coached until they could sell him for a good fee.

I think in Morsey's case he and MA dunna see eye to eye.......I would imagine his agent is busy.....

I know a few years ago there were several youth team scouts watching Morsy, who they thought could go on to better things.

He seems to have a fiery temper and has run into problems on a few occasions, but his control is good, he likes to pass it to feet and he links the play well. Did we offer him 2 years? That's perhaps a sign that they rate him but some of the statements in the press (was it Grew?) about him not learning quickly enough won't have gone down well. And as Jimmy says Adams doesn't suffer fools gladly. They seem to get one chance and if they blow it again they're shown the door.

Morsy's young enough under Bosman to fetch a small fee at a tribunal.

 

But to do that he has to have been offered a contract.

I was hoping for some from the Championship or league 1 players at least?

 

I was also hoping that having shopped at Poundland for years we might at least have stepped up to Marks & Spencers.

I have to say personally I think Morsy offers more than Loft certainly centrally.

Loft was really poor the last few games of the season in midfield and arguably some of our best early form in the season came with Morsy and Shuker playing in the middle(interestingly Loft was at LB during this period).

 

I have nothing against Loft but I really don't get the hype with him at times from some fans and I think he is very replaceable!
