Clayton out on loan

He's been solid all season, in nearly every game he's played in! He may make the odd mistake but what defender doesn't at this level? We've got the 4th best defence in the league and been in the top 3 most of the campaign and he's really played his part!

We've brought Purse and Chilvers in (the later really cementing a place in the team) Purse will be one of the 1st names on the team sheet so big Clayts opportunities will be limited, if I was him I'd have been asking to go out on loan... He needs game time to earn himself a deal.

Gd luck to the big lad, played well and put in some match winning performances!!

^^^^ what he said

really ? did you miss the countless free headers zola managed to miss ?

Spot on! He was awful at Burton! Zola ran the show in that game and he nor McCombe could keep him on a leash.

I think this is a great move for all concerned. Hopefully he can thrive as a main man of the Brizzle team, and help us to shut out some of the opposition, who are in and around us. Pleasing that Adams has let him go and is keeping faith with young Joe Davis, who is our future. Clayt has served us reasonably well, but lets be honest, I'm MUCH more confident with the likes of Purse and Chilvers to battle it out with McCombe, for the 2 slots.

Good work Micky, the future's bright!

He was one of MA's fall guys. Will Doddsy be next?

No. And I ****** hope not!

ALways capabale of scoring goals and would be a big loss to the squad IMO. Had/Having his best season yet... as are others, granted, but he MUST stay. He deserves to.

i genuinely am bemused at how many people use terms like 'Rock' and 'solid' and 'good' for him. I must be blinking or something when he does these things. His strength should be his height and ability to dominate to make up for his lack of pace. He is poor in the air and doesnt dominate or attack the ball in any way. Good move for us.

The fact that he's played in a good team has little to do with his own abilities, and more to do with the absence of available central defenders. He has a lot to thank both McCombe and Neal for in my opinion.

One more weak link removed from the chain as far as I can see. Slow, cumbersome, poor in the air, lacks concentration and positional sense. We'll be an improved team defensively in his absence.
