Match Thread - Port Vale v Burton

His boots are shaped like threepenny  bits. 😁 other than that I like him as goalie at least he catches crosses.

We were saying this on Saturday.  Burton scored off a throw we’d conceded from a Gauci goal kick. Ok, we should defend it better but punting the ball into touch just repeatedly turns possession over throughout the game.  It looks a mental thing, overthinking,  Brady alluded to this at the fans forum.  One suggestion made in our group on Saturday was that we line up centrally and he simply kicks it down the middle, rather than aiming towards the wing and kicking it into touch.  That way he’s got a far bigger margin for error, plus his line of focus could be the opposition goal rather than seeing one of the side stands.

When Walters was playing regulary last season was when Vale were in there best form. He never wanted leave Vale but had his head turned, he wont be the first footballer for that to happen too and he wont be the last. He is 20yrs old and still learning the game but needs to be playing on a regular basis and he will get better and better.

I am with you here, he is a young player learning the game, only recently turned 20, for me he needs to be given a run of games, he has started 7 league games all season, he has ability and I would sooner see him playing than Ojo, Rhys has a future in the game, probably won't be with us but be nice to see him given the same opportunities that the likes of Ojo and Croasdale seem to be getting.

I am confused that 6/8 weeks ago many people on here saying we had a team/squad far better than the results were suggesting and everything on Moore, now all of a sudden the likes of Pep wud not get a tune out of these players and what do you expect Brady to do.  Early doors for Brady but he has to do more, this squad of players is way better than we had 2 years ago when we were playing the likes of Uche, Loft, Grant, Massey, Lacovotti, Sang, Lowe and many more besides them.  We must be the only team that never seems to get a manager bounce.

That’s right, their is a split in the fan base because of me “fanning the flames” on here

He’s not showing anything to have the trust of building his own team.

This is a football form for expressing views and opinions which I will keep doing, thank you very much

Déjà vu Brian.

This will be the Darren Moore debate all over again. Those that say he had no chance with the squad he inherited and we went down with a whimper and those that say he should be given transfer window and a season.

I’m just not sure if Brady’s other half thinks he will turn it around and we can stay up yet.

I think Waine is a good example to explain this a bit.

Early doors a lot of fans didn't rate him, he wasn't playing well, and people were not convinced he was a FL player

Fast forward to now and he's becoming something of a favourite.

With him anyway seems to be confidence driven and getting playing time.

To his credit Brady trying to help that by trimming the squad but ultimately you need to win games to get the morale back up, and that isn't happening yet.

Fan morale is down in the pits as well so there isn't much / any faith anybody could do much better.

Thats spotOjo on about Walters. Shown very little on the pitch when given chances and never seems rated by any of the managers we have had recently. Add to this his exploits last season when he walked away, but came back in the end !! Maybe he has an attitude that doesn't go down too well.

Do well to remember more than a couple of shots from him or through balls to set up chances. He is not the answer. Worth a shout over Ojo yes but Ojo is given the job of protecting a poor pair of center backs. Awful balance of midfield players from the start and we will be relegated because of it.

He was rated by QPR who were prepared to pay a million for him.

I don’t really go for all this kind of stuff, that said, I have said for a few weeks that George hall isn’t effective enough. Looking at that it proves it for this particular game. For all his promise he just doesn’t deliver enough. We need to get that right. No point having Stockley in the box if you don’t have both wingers peppering the box with crosses.

Because hes asked to play very deep when we haven't the ball. Doing that role is going to impact on him when we try and go forward.

We’re by no means brilliant but our points per game since the turn of the year, if we’d managed that over the course of the season, then we’d be right in the thick of a relegation scrap instead of being ten points adrift of one.

Every player is down to confidence.

Thats why we look a poor team. Despite what others are saying I think we have some decent players in there at this level but the club allowed the rot to set in and we see players not prepared to play the ball forward when it’s on.

Depends if you believe BigDaveQPR or not.

They made a bid in the summer window though and I believe Matt confirmed a 7 figure offer was rejected for Walters.

Midtables only 33 points whats that 11 points ahead and we have too play some of them .

Im not sure we have the manager do it, but maybe A Gray once fully up too speed can make the difference .

Never going do anything if concede goals like that what we conceding at present  under Brady ...

Croasdale played well with Walters at Birmingham

Id remove Ojo from team altogether .

No good moaning at defence if midfield is getting over run .

A goalkeeper who kicks constantly into touch is annoying say the least

Good hear Waine played well whys it took 28 games play him with Stockley .

The negative set ups have dumbfounded me

Ive seen thst Brown chance at 2 -2 mind you if booed on field i could understand him making a point but what better way than stick it in and put 2 fingers up at the booers

The fact he missed well that says it all

Did he though? As the only time I saw any mention of Walters to QPR was BigDaveQPR with his 7 followers on Twitter in that window. Somehow I’m sceptical of that.

I can’t believe a bid of 1 mill was turned down for him to sit on the bench
