Match Thread - Port Vale v Burton

He’s had a whole transfer window to sort out the midfield
But who of any quality is going to come in our position? It's all well and good saying we should sign this and that but I bet it was a massive struggle to sign the 5 that we have. Decent midfielders are in short supply, especially when you have very little joy to offer as a club. I don't think this is a stick you can beat the manager with.

"Shoot from the hip"

You think you're a real maverick don't you?

Give you a gun you'd probably blow your own foot off.

We're in a situation where 10 players have expiring contracts, we've got 4 or 5 on loan, a few out on loan and a very small number who are likely to be in demand / want to move on.

This is a team that will be torn apart in the summer. As it should.

I'm not sure whether I trust Brady with a budget for it but I sure as hell don't trust the Darnbrough consultancy.

We struggle next year on current evidence, IMO. Unless serious money and changes are made.

He could have signed a couple of lampposts to give more movement in our midfield.

Agree. Darnbrough can sod off back to Stoke. Or Walsall.

What’s Brady done to convince you he is the right man?
Im not looking for free flowing football and loads of goals but what little differences have you seen that you think Brady could be the right man?
Im just looking for slight differences / improvements

He hasn't done much yet but he's only been here for 6 games, in which time he's had a couple of decent players leaving and has had to try a new formation that the squad wasn't built for. He's also really only had Archer as a new player for any substantial minutes.

He's inherited a really poor squad and needs at least some time to implement properly what he wants to do. At the moment he's simply firefighting with the tools he has available.

Expecting huge differences in 6 games with a poor team is completely unrealistic to be honest.

There's too much to sort out in a short space of time, halfway through a season and bottom of the league. An impossible job.

Again, I have asked for little snippets not loads

You did say 'sort out' the midfield. That's not a snippet.

I pay a lot of money into Asda each month, when they lost top spot in the cheapest supermarket table earlier this week I went in booing and moaning demanding to see the manager.😙

Don't give Nippy ideas.

I have not asked or stated about huge differences

So far, I have seen somebody not to have the nounce to change anything in game. When the opposition are on top and running through us like melted butter, he’s not changed a single thing.

We have not lost 5 out of 7 second half’s  under Brady. What are his half time team talks like for that to happen?

You mentioned about the midfield being useless in Brady’s defence and I was just counter arguing that with that he’s had all month to do try & do something about it.

You are still ignoring the fact about what slight improvements have you seen from Brady ?

So many got shot down on here in the summer when we made the signings that we did that they were not good enough, proved right, appaling to not strengthen the midfield.  We never bossed the midfield when in League 2 so no idea why many thought this was a strong area.  I don't trust Darnborough and I do not think Brady will have any pull factor as well.  A depressing time over the next few months, we have to somehow win 1 of the 2 cup games in the next week to keep the season going, lose both and we have nothing to play for.

I wont be calling for the Shanahans to sell because thats pointless but those running the club need to hang their heads in shame with where we sit in the league and our disgraceful home form and what us fans who pay good money week in week out have had to sit through for 2 out of the last 3 seasons and the majority of us still continue to support the club.

Please dont someone say that well she has put 12-15m in,yes she has we all know that but lets not forget it is in the form of loans which my guess is that she would want a fair chunk back if she sold the club.I am forever grateful for how they rescued it from Smurthwaite but we haven't improved one jot despite all the money, there have been a lot of errors of judgement imo along the way and oh boy have us fans suffered for it.

Wasted 12-15 mil. Absolutely wasted it.

It’s all good and well having money but you have to spend it wisely.

Can’t help but think the football industry takes us a soft touch. Nice club, nice Carol, like to do things different.

Take Reading. Give them £10 away tickets. Did we get anything from them as a gesture after the abandonment? That’s now a game we have given the upper hand to the away side with a larger following. Good job we are not in a relegation scrap.

Nice owners, committed forking out money, hopeless at running at football club.

Beesley is just the type of striker we should have been signing in the summer,if Burton can get him(spot him) then surely he would be in our range,he is a striker who has always impressed me on the occasions i have seen him

There's money at Burton since the new owners came in, Beesley was under contract so it must have cost a bob or two to get him, I think his record before was something like 3 goals in 30 for Blackpool he's having a good season this time out.
