Luke Williams is a fantastic appointment by Peterborough — he’s exactly the kind of manager I’d love to see here.

Not for me. I don’t think he style of play would work here. As we’ve seen our fan base don’t like passing for the sake of passing to keep possession.

For me Wingers are Port Vale’s DNA. We completely abandoned that since Askey.

I crave a return to 4 at the back, attacking style playing the ball forward more quickly with 2 wingers staying out wide to attack the space at Vale Park. I want to watch a McCarthy, Ainsworth, Guppy, JMW, Vincent,R Taylor, ,Haldane,Marshall,Birchall - the list goes on - players who want to go and exploit our greatest asset, the size of Vale Park.

I want a manger who can deliver that which makes me think of managers like Darren Ferguson,Steve Evan’s and Gareth Ainsworth.

I wouldn’t touch Steve Evan’s with a barge pole, I don’t think he fits Port Vale as a club under Carol and is a divisive charecter.

I’ve always been opposed to ex players as manager but Ainsworth gets Port Vale’s DNA. He really does. He understands more than any manager who would be a realistic replacement.

QPR aside he gets results. Mr positivity and passion - the complete opposite of Moore. I think the players and fans would really respond to him.

If I was in Carol’s position and I would go all chips in and go get him.

I think there is little doubt that DM has lost the players; never thought I would see a player like BG just meandering around not giving a flying funk - shocking behaviour from a club captain, yet, something has put him in that mindset.

The bizarre thing is that DM got the tactics bang on until we went 1 down, and as Bowers delights in informing us, we all know it's game over at that point.

This soft underbelly is just like the last relegation - no one is fighting or sticking for each other - off the top of my head, where is the Connor hall who grabs mckirdy and threatens to throw him off the pitch; where is the BG who is constantly chirping in oppo players ears and crunching them with solid tackles

I'm always in the camp of losing a manager is the absolute last rather than first resort, but you know, we can't have a team who only play until they go a goal down

It's on both DM and the players, but you can't sack 20 odd nomads when they are under contract, so that leaves............

The daft thing is, we all know we have enough to survive in this division

Must admit I'm a bit fed up this morning, and on top of that, me oatcakes have gone a bit of a funny colour, so it's looking like iv got to nick our littlens crunchy nuts for brekkie 🙄

On the upside I'm going watch predator this afternoon so all is not lost for the day (flipping heck I'm giving a DD style life commentary here - right im off before I get the feeling I need to go the gym) luv u DD 😁👍😍

I shall be going to the gym later Hoppers lad  and will put a couple of pints of Guinness on the bar for you , then lift them into my gob lol 🤣 🤣 🤣 🍺🍺🍺😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 UTV VTID

Yesterday was dire, and there is a lot going wrong generally at the moment, but some of our so called supporters were a disgrace yesterday. Immediately after they scored, we got the sarcasm chants (we’re <ovf censored> <ovf censored> etc)

Do people get off on that sort of thing?

I agree, seems a bit daft to me, but some would argue its just a bit of gallows humour, and a lot of people made a lot of effort to be there, and it was drivel, so each to their own I guess

I suppose they decided it was up to them to make their own enjoyment - bit like me when I get a bit of "Hoppers Time", I like to smear the peanut butter all, errr, oh, soz, got side tracked there 🫡🫡🫡

That must be it. They think it’s humour!

Genuinely when you're getting embarrassed again the only thing you can do is laugh at yourselves.

Definitely not for me, don't think seen any game where watched one of his sides and thought they have played entertaining football and would like him as our manager.  Loved him as a player but don't want him here in charge.  He could well keep us up but he would send us to sleep with his brand of football.  He has been in charge for Gillingham for 27 games, they have 32 goals in the league during that time, he went 12 unbeaten at the end of last season, scored a total of 12 goals.  He plays safety first fooball like Moore, it will be the same, just probably less possession, we missed out on Williams and Duff in the last few weeks, 2 excellent managers who will see their teams climb out of safety.  Probably not a name no one will mention but Dean Brennan at Barnet doing a really nice job there, has them playing decent football, finished second in the National League 2023/2024, champions 2024/2025 with over 90 goal scored, no where near the top budgets at that level and adapted quite well back in the football league.

I have an extremely unpopular view about Rob Page.

He did a good job whilst here before but if people think Moore’s football is boring, then they’d be in for a treat under Page. I can’t argue with his results for us on paper but I’d never, ever want to see him as manager again.

He’s also not managed in league football since Northampton which was about 8 years ago.

I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole.

Think that’s a bit harsh on Williams, to be honest. His team, who supposedly just keep the ball for the sake of it, stuck five past one of the form sides in the division. Doesn’t look like pointless passing to me.

Apart from Bromley, we haven’t brushed anyone aside like that in the last couple of years.

He did a great job at Notts, earned his move to Swansea — maybe that one didn’t quite work out, but it doesn’t change the fact he’s a good manager who plays good football.

Agree. There was one lad draped in an England flag who spent much of the game wandering up and down the aisle next to us with his arms spread out and singing(!) random stuff about Vale, Moore, etc. I got so fed up with him I asked if he was getting sponsored for wandering about behaving like a total ar**hole. He just looked rather vacantly at me. Another bloke wandered up very unsteadily during the Remembrance stuff, fell on top of my better half who had to grab hold of him. Then shouted Vale during the minute’s silence. It makes you so proud!

I’ve just got a horrible feeling Moore will be given at least until the start of December to try and turn things around. Under Carol, we’ve got a track record of showing maybe a bit too much loyalty to managers.

For me, looking at the past 18 months, there’s been no real progress on the pitch under Moore. We’re basically in the same place we were back in February ‘24 when he came in.

I’m tired of Mooreball. Tired of trying to nick a goal and hang on for 1-0. Tired of going behind and never looking like we’ve got the nous or belief to get back into it. It just feels like it’s time for a change.

Give it a game or two and you'll change your mind.

Sorry to jump in but it seems to me that having an inconsistent view of an extremely inconsistent team and manager is fairly consistent because I too consistently have an inconsistent view of DM and his ever changing team.
