Yet, if you read through all of these posts, there are so many saying they hate Moore Ball etc, so - yes, it does matter of the style of play is exciting.

I'd hate Evans to be out manager.

I'd have Ghengis Khan as manager and Pol Pot as his assistant if it meant winning a few games of football especially at home.

Sorry to jump in but it seems to me that having an inconsistent view of an extremely inconsistent team and manager is fairly consistent because I too consistently have an inconsistent view of DM and his ever changing team.

Good for you K_S, hope you can take something for it!!

Isn't the umbrage at the manager because a section of fans consider him consistently poor?

Moore reminds me of a bloke I used to know who loved guitars.  Really loved guitars.  But no matter how many guitars he bought, how expensive they were, how similar they were, and how many facts and figures he knew about them, he couldn’t get a tune out of any of them to save his life!

The most telling thing for me is that if we go a goal down then we know it’s game over and the players or Moore have no idea how to overcome that

The clamour for Moore to go is not unexpected. However, Carol won't press the panic button just yet. She will only do so when she absolutely has to because a new manager for the moment can only use the same squad.

I believe she will give him until the end of the month before considering replacing him unless things get really dire as the last two league games have been.

Don't be surprised if she gives him until after the Bristol Rovers game in December to try and turn things around. After all, doesn't he still have 4 years of his contract to go in theory?

She learned her lesson with Crosby so imo she wont wait until December if results dont improve,he certainly wont be sacked this week but lose on Saturday then it will be very very close

Exactly like the season we got relegated one goal down means we are playing for a draw two means we have lost. It isn't rocket science we don't score enough goals but DM just keeps setting us up to avoid conceding which goes out of the window as soon as we do which then reveals the lack of any plan to score the goals to get us back into the game. Even putting 3 strikers on and smashing the ball up towards them every time we get it would stand more of a chance than whatever it is DM is trying to do with his subs which just seems to be random and hopeful rather than planned.

Carol should break the bank to get Ainsworth. Never going to happen though sadly. Moore has the safest job in football.

I might be the only one here but i honestly dont get the clamour for Ainsworth.... please dont let us ruin another legend in our eyes, there are plenty to still choose from who could do a good job here with Carols backing and i hope some we look at would be currently doing well in jobs

Yes for a full season I agree. But at this stage it doesn’t matter as Moore has got us into a big mess. I’d rather stay up playing horrible football than go down playing nice football. Then if we stay up we can reassess and hire someone who plays attacking football.

Well its 18.05 .

No news

I take it we continue with him .

I dont see how we can with disgruntled support (and dont they show it especially at home )and players who quite  clearly he as unless my eyes are deceiving  me are totally baffled by his set ups and bizarre tombola management and have too a degree threw there toys out the pram and allowed the support too witness there deliberate disregard for there boss the manager .

Surely Carol cannot let this continue

Not a minute Moore

While the usual suspects are relentlessly hounding the manager (and rightly, to an extent after today), I think the issues run far deeper than just Darren Moore.

The recruitment, while good in parts, has been dire in others. Only Gabriel, Humphreys, Johnson and Cole are what you would call League One standard players, the rest of our signings were squad fillers, increasing quantity and not quality - Waine, Marosi, Faal, Shipley to name but a few, while others, like Brown, are hard workers but lack any real cutting edge.

So the recruitment team must also take some of the blame. Last year, our recruitment seemed good, picking up experienced players who could handle the physicality and technical requirements of the division like Stockley, Heneghan, Tolaj, Curtis and Amos, but obviously backed by a big budget for the level.

This year, since Lee Darnborough has been involved, we've signed dross that no one else wanted, the aforementioned ones above being good examples, so our squad building wasn't a matter of improvement, but finding cover.

You would have also banked on the recruitment team having a plan B if the inevitable happened and someone came in for Tolaj, which they did, and we were caught with our pants down, meaning Moore went after a player (Brown) had been after since before Darnborough's arrival, and Cole, a player he knew anyway.

So what was Darnborough and the recruitment team doing?

Using recruitment as another stick to beat DM with is a pretty low blow when some of Vale's recruitment has been good and some not so good but in particular when it's known in the EPL where it's been studied and analyzed that roughly half of new signings fail to work out.

Just do a simple Google search - 50% of soccer transfers work out - produces hits.

Yep, the data is from the EPL but I would anticipate signings made from the lower end of market and loan market would be even more risky.

Im not sure its true that our fans don't like a possession based game I think its true to say we don't like a possession based bore fest where we have 70% of possession with no shots on goal like we often did with AC mainly because we had no decent forwards and a weak defence. Its also about trust if your team regularly scores goals you will trust that the possession will go somewhere because there is a plan if your team rarely scores goals then aimless possession in your own half with no plan just becomes frustrating.

“Possession based football” under Moore is our defenders, goalie and Byers just passing the ball in our own half until we f§ck it up and have to hoof it up anyway.  The only justification I can give to such tactics is that seeing as we can’t score, then we might as well stop the opposition from scoring by stopping them having the ball for 30 seconds or so.
However, in reality that’s all it iswasting time: Port Vale’s, the opposition’s, and all of us mugs who pay to watch this tripe.

Stockley has said the dressing room is in bits

I'm taking this has come from an unconfirmed source within the club

If he has the lost the dressing room, and it certainly seems that way, it’s entirely of his own doing.

He’s made the squad far, far too big, and that’s inevitably going to lead to some players being disgruntled when they’re getting nowhere near the squad (like Shipley, Waine, Marosi).

Add to that you’ve got players like G Hall and Curtis watching midfielders and full backs play in their position. Stockley, a seasoned pro, who was one of our best players last season, watching Faal play ahead of him. Heneghan watching Debrah put in numerous stinkers yet he can’t get a minute. Paton coming in for a couple of games, scoring and assisting, then being bombed out inexplicably for a month. Loan players we’ve signed not making the squad, wondering why they’ve bothered joining. Walters bombed out for over a month watching Garrity turn out <ovf censored> week in week out.

If I was a player I’d be pretty naffed off to be honest, unless I was one of the ones who can do no wrong and are undroppable in Moore’s eyes.

As in crazy decisions being made, and players baffled by it.

Thanks for clarifying, So it deffo looks like the players are p#ssed off with Darren  continually f#ckin about with team selection on a weekly basis , it's no wonder the players can't be arsed
