Agree. There was one lad draped in an England flag who spent much of the game wandering up and down the aisle next to us with his arms spread out and singing(!) random stuff about Vale, Moore, etc. I got so fed up with him I asked if he was getting sponsored for wandering about behaving like a total ar**hole. He just looked rather vacantly at me. Another bloke wandered up very unsteadily during the Remembrance stuff, fell on top of my better half who had to grab hold of him. Then shouted Vale during the minute’s silence. It makes you so proud!

You were obviously sitting fairly close to us. We wondered about the lad in the St George’s flag. Hope he’s ok

Ha ha. Of course it was that moron who shouted during the minutes silence. Probably goes around putting flags up on lampposts while proclaiming 'England for the English' as a smokescreen for racism and bigotry but then is the only one of 21,000 people who disrupts a minutes silence for fallen British soldiers. A hypocrite and a waste of oxygen.  Over 100 million sperm and he was the fastest. The world is a puzzling place

The sooner he is sacked the better realistically, the later we sack him towards the window the bigger risk sacking him would be, If we plan on getting someone in we need to give them time to settle down. They need to be bloody proven though. Dont bother sacking dm if we are going to get someone who's no good.

I have said before sacking a manager is the easy bit it's who replace him with that's the problem, there are a lot of <ovf censored> out of work managers out there, two of the best ones imo Duff and Evatt have been snapped up now.

Despite what we might think of individual players I think in the summer we all agreed that this squad should have no problem staying in this division but for whatever reason that doesn't look like happening as it stands

You've changed your tune haven't you 🤔😆

On the fence, all im saying Is if we are going to sack him we should do it sooner rather than later, otherwise give him the window and suffer whatever happens, could do well, could go down.

Not for me. I don’t think he style of play would work here. As we’ve seen our fan base don’t like passing for the sake of passing to keep possession.

For me Wingers are Port Vale’s DNA. We completely abandoned that since Askey.

I crave a return to 4 at the back, attacking style playing the ball forward more quickly with 2 wingers staying out wide to attack the space at Vale Park. I want to watch a McCarthy, Ainsworth, Guppy, JMW, Vincent,R Taylor, ,Haldane,Marshall,Birchall - the list goes on - players who want to go and exploit our greatest asset, the size of Vale Park.

I want a manger who can deliver that which makes me think of managers like Darren Ferguson,Steve Evan’s and Gareth Ainsworth.

I wouldn’t touch Steve Evan’s with a barge pole, I don’t think he fits Port Vale as a club under Carol and is a divisive charecter.

I’ve always been opposed to ex players as manager but Ainsworth gets Port Vale’s DNA. He really does. He understands more than any manager who would be a realistic replacement.

QPR aside he gets results. Mr positivity and passion - the complete opposite of Moore. I think the players and fans would really respond to him.

If I was in Carol’s position and I would go all chips in and go get him.

Im not sure its true that our fans don't like a possession based game I think its true to say we don't like a possession based bore fest where we have 70% of possession with no shots on goal like we often did with AC mainly because we had no decent forwards and a weak defence. Its also about trust if your team regularly scores goals you will trust that the possession will go somewhere because there is a plan if your team rarely scores goals then aimless possession in your own half with no plan just becomes frustrating.

I wouldn't trust Darren to run a bath nevermind letting him squander more funds on injury prone players , Ger him gone or it's back to Division 4 # The fans have had enough and it looks like the players dunner give two f#cks on l match days either

After 15 games are the genuinely going to be 4 worse teams than the vale come the end of the season? We look like we’ve given up already and manager included. You can’t wait around in football. He’s got to go and this week to have any chance of staying up. The football and set up for games is dreadful and we will probably be relegated with 7/8 games to spare at this rate.

he cannot turn this around and in 4/5 games we could possibly be 10 points adrift. Get him out now, get a manager in who can see where the squad is and let him sign players into January. That’s the only hope we have.

thanks to Darren for the promotion but failure to act now is going to result in him relegating us twice. We have to learn (well Carol does) that two relegations in three seasons is totally unacceptable.

and get on to the phone to Steve Evans

Who replaces him? i reckon not many of the manager up for grabs could run a bath either.

That's due to the manager constantly f#cking about with team selection week in week out and playing players out of position which is bat shyte crazy and to me it looks like the majority of players want him gone as well you've only got to look at them strolling around and like Yatesy has said there no passion there and he's spot on # change the manager or it's good night vienna to league one football

Sorry to jump in but it seems to me that having an inconsistent view of an extremely inconsistent team and manager is fairly consistent because I too consistently have an inconsistent view of DM and his ever changing team.

Your 3 posts were consistently consistent 😀

We need a manager who will actually get us exited with recent promotions under their belt.

Paul Cook ??

For me I don’t care if the new manager is exciting. Just need someone to get results to keep us up, as that has now got to be the target. We can worry about the quality of football next year if we manage to survive.

3 wins in 15 games, which is the lowest number of wins in the division, and shockingly only one win at home it is starting to be indefensible.

For those saying give him the window I say he has decent players already giving him more to not get the best out of won't help. For me his issue isnt personnel its selection and tactics. Especially his substitutions which consistently seem to make us worse. There is a reason we rarely win after falling behind and its a combnation of poor attitude, poor substitutions and poor tactics all of which are down to the manager.

We have the best collection of strikers I can remember us having all at one time cole, stockley and paton are all goalscorers then we also have waine, brown and faal who are not at the same level but even faal has as many goals as willo got in both of his last two seasons with us. So the problem isn't lack of goalscorers, we have the best midfield I think we have ever had in terms of depth I mean byers walters, garrity, croasdale, shipley, ojo, curtis, hall and we also have shorrock, richards and plant who we sent out on loan because we have so many decent players it was decided we didn't need them. Our defence is less well stocked as we only have 4 cb's and we play 3 every game but we have gordon, clarke, john, headley, johnson and gabriel fighting it out for two wing back slots (injuries aside). So the problem isn't in midfield either. Our defence isn't the best but they have looked excellent at times so actually I don't think they are that bad I just think we invite pressure and eventually that pressure will force an error out of us. I also think we end up having so many defenders in a small space that they get in each others way and we have nobody higher up the pitch to give it to when we win it back.

Surely nobody can honesty tell me that we don't have a team in there capable of finishing mid table in league one

The problem has to be the manager.

My idea of quality football is creating plenty of chances and being able to put the ball in the net while seeing our players putting there bodies on the line to keep the ball out of our net which is  not happening at the moment under our clueless manager and ropey coaching staff
