Can’t agree at all with this. For the last 18 months, when people have criticised Moore, the main positive people have always brought up about him is his ability to attract better players in the transfer window. Now thats turned into a shambles, it’s not his fault but the recruitment teams? And if thats the case then there really is no reason to keep him, because he offers nothing tactically, whether in the way he sets his teams up or the ability to change a game.

Exactly. Are some seriously thinking Moore has no involvement in the signings

We have 6 league games until Christmas. 10 league games up to and including the 4th January.

The next two home league games are "must win" games if he's to keep his job, in my opinion.

I think he has a massive say, but he's not the first manager to poorly recruit at this level.

The number of good, permanent signings we've made as a League 1 team in our three seasons at this level is really poor. The number of failures is significantly higher.

Something seems to malfunction at PVFC in the summer break before a League 1 campaign, regardless of manager or recruitment staff.

DM has to go, of that I have no doubt.

Embarrassed against 10 men followed by an embarrassing effort live on tv against Stockport  followed by a performance today where the players gave up.

For DM the to tell the players are still fighting he should be sacked for that statement alone. Forget about the substitutions, rigidness of his tactics or stubbornness to keep playing certain individuals who don’t deserve a place in the team.

My concern is Carol’s loyalty and faith to the man entrusted with the football side of the business.

History tells us she allows the situation to get much worse before acting. Just ask messers Askey, Clarke, Crosby and Flitcroft.

I fear this going to be getting ugly before  acting.

Good post. I'll stick to my original impression of DM going back to the last relegation after a virtual half-season in charge. Back then he had the time to do better. Crosby would have given us the same if not a better shout of avoiding the drop. Last season in League 2 he was backed by a large budget and to be honest it would have been a massive failure had we not secured promotion. This season carol has backed him again with budget and squad. This squad is at least a mid table outfit.

For me, it's laughable, every time we see the team there are 3/4/5 changes, players in the wrong positions, players left out who excelled the previous week, bewidering formations focussing on a 'not-to-lose' mentality. Substitutions are haphazard and often desperate. You could sense toxity had risen when 'turkey-teeth's' outfot opened the scoring last week. I said 3-0 for yesterday without any hesitation, so sad to see in all honesty. DM seems a really nice fella but I see nothing changing and it really should be much, much better. He has the next x2 league games, possibly gone before that. Its hard to believe we struggle with that squad. That said something is fundamentally wrong. Bloody hell Vale!

True, for me the big attraction to Moore is his ability to attract better players, or supposedly so. i loved the model last year, non league players with high potential mixed with some players from the league above. We get to league 1 and seem to forget this and go for players proven to be poor or very injury prone

You can’t in one hand praise Moore when the signings are good then blame the recruitment team when they are bad. He either takes all or none of the credit in both scenarios.

There wasn't a recruitment head last year, though.

Really hard comment on games you havent seen ,but thst first goal shouldnt even get through too the goalkeeper never mind go in ,the second some player turned his back tge third Croasdale lost the ball yet Debrah should still have blocked shot .

If only other teams get us free hits and turned there backs on our shots and gave the ball away so hopelessly .

Cowardly

That was my point

This is my point, last year, we got our recruitment right more often than not, even if it was largely based on players Moore knew.

The point I'm trying to make is that something fundamentally went wrong this close season, and the difference is that now we have a much vaunted Head of Recruitment,  so what's their responsibility in this?

He would need to go as well. Regardless of recruitment, what has occurred on the pitch has been completely unacceptable and that is Moores fault.

That lad had John on toast for most of the game.

Wow just seen Steve evans in that interview 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 he looks really well - that is some fitness regime - fantastic achievement 👍👍👍

Is the recruitment that bad or just players poorly managed?

Marosi in fairness was well rated.

Waine granted was poor but seemed to be more a developmental signing.

Cole obviously a good signing.

Hall should be a great player going forward but isn’t been used properly.

Humphries decent, Gabriel decent unlucky with the injury, Gordon injured but played well prior to that.

Gauci has been good.

Brown on paper should be good done well and rated at Derby again are we using him right?

Faal granted has been awful (although madly has three goals in not that many minutes) so already more than Loft and Uche combined did.

Shipley not utilised much so couldn’t really tell you much about him but again well rated.

The problem is we don’t play anyone for a decent period to get form and into the grove with the changes all the time and when we do often out of position.

Ronan Curtis as I’ve said before had ridiculous career stats considering he is a wide forward/winger goals and assists that anyone would be buzzing over signing yet has he ever played in his natural position for us? Madness.

I've just watched the EFL Show. The new manager at Peterborough, Luke Williams, seems to have a good, attacking approach. 5 0 they hammered Wimbledon.

DMs cautious, cagey, negative, boring football has to get results. When it doesn't, fans immediately want a change.

I suspect the club will give him the month of November to turn things around.

I don't think he will be able to turn it around because he is stubbornly sticking with the three centre back system, which is now leaking goals at a worrying rate. Also, other teams are now settled and playing as "teams". We've got no team understanding because of the constant chopping and changing of players every single game. Plus players who do well and have good games (Paton, G Hall, Walters, Ojo...) get dropped regardless of how good they play or how much they positively impact games.

We're crying out for a front two of Stockley with Cole, and Paton playing deep just behind them. Four at the back. Stick with it for ten games. I doubt DM will still be here in ten games, though.

Luke Williams is a fantastic appointment by Peterborough — he’s exactly the kind of manager I’d love to see here.
