Match Thread - Bolton v Port Vale

A winner ? You mean winning the northern premier league with macc town which is what neil aspin did with Halifax town. I wouldn't say that set him apart. You can't call him a winner this early on in his management career and expect him to jump straight to league one. That's absolutely mental

May as well give Duffy and Griff at Congleton a ring or popey at Kidsgrove if you're going that route

I watched Forest Green away at Luton in the cup.

What I would give to have a manager to go at teams like Robbie Savages team did that night.

Is it not too much to ask for entertaining winning football?

And like my previous post, if you want garbage football, made to look even worse in the winter weather, then keep backing Darren Moore.

Stats don’t lie.
Any other club owner would sack I’m now and any Vale fan worth their salt wouldn’t shed a tear.

Before coming to us Devante Cole had scored 51 league goals in 8 years.
He will be 31 in May.
I didn’t get the hype when we signed him.
A massive downgrade on Tolaj.

Well Devante does look a good player and Tolaj is hardly doing amazingly well at Plymouth. I feel we needed both, as when many were calling for Cole to join originally it was when we still had Tolaj and feel they would have been a good duo.

The real issues for me have been for many years the lack of a truly creative midfield player who can unlock defenses with a split pass like Sonner.

Byers was a flop in league 2 really, so it isn’t a surprise he has been underwhelming in league 1.

Our passing is generally deeply ineffective. Moore has, as I’ve always said been good at developing sides who keep their shape, we saw that V Arsenal.

However it’s at the expense of breaking other teams down. We never threaten to do that.

I wonder what the chances are of DM saving Carol having to make a decision by jumping before he's pushed. We all know Carol just does not have the ruthlessness required, which inevitably leaves us in a massively worse position when she is eventually forced into action. Does Moore seriously think that he is going to turn things round? If so he is completely and utterly deluded. The wheels are coming off big style and the players and fans have no confidence in him. By hook or by crook he needs to be gone in time for the incoming manager to assess what he has got and what he needs so that the required players can be brought in January.

Whoever comes in, please please please send the players out with a positive mindset and in their best positions.

Who said I'm backing Darren moore ? I was giving my opinion about robbie savage absolutely nothing to do with Darren or vale. I'm just as angry and frustrated as you are

There's plenty of attacking teams out there i just think hiring someone whos been in management for a mere two years and jump up straight to league 1 would be an absolute ridiculous and car crash appointment.

I think you could be right, even though personally I’d like to see an interview process. I believe he’s a marmite character but doesn’t he have a good relationship with Carol.? He’s certainly got experience and isn’t managing anyone at the moment, so unless he demands an a huge signing on fee or contract, it’ll probably be Evan’s. I’d prefer someone to come in until the end of the season, with contract talks to take place pending retaining L1 status.

I’d love Evans because he is a good fit for where we are now, plus despite him being a git when I’ve seen him at other clubs, when he is our git I tend to think he is quite a determined character.

Genuinely no idea why people want Ainsworth. Not a single person would be mentioning him if he hadn't played for us for 12 months. If people think Mooreball is bad, they'd be having a coronary after a few weeks of Ainsworth.

I think that it is likely that people expect his managerial style to be similar to his playing style.  From what you, and others, say it is not.

True. But I have a feeling he’s who Carol would go after. Try and galvanise the fan  base.

We could always bring DC back next season when we're back in L2...

(This is a joke by way before some posters lose their mind ) although I really miss those days of having a passionate manager and would say how it is. Win , lose or draw I feel dazza post match is the same week in week out with the mumbling dross

I’m not angry or frustrated.
Like I said I don’t go. I watch from afar as you all argue on here.
Just pointing out the facts that Darren Moore is one dreadful footballer manager.

His Gillingham side entertained me more than my own, the last time we met.

Also went 21 games unbeaten.

The only way <ovf censored> football is great is when it’s winning <ovf censored> football. He’s got a knack of doing that. Unlike Moore.
Not saying I’d want him but he’d be an improvement on this clown we have.

You really think Moore will resign before being pushed? The same Moore who after leaving Sheffield Wednesday would have taken them to the Premiership had he stayed.

I barely post on here unless its in the boxing thread as I tend to work most Saturday day times so not sure how you can class everyone collectively "arguing"

I also wouldn't call it arguing,  just forming an opinion on a football forum.

He did a really great job at Wycombe getting a small budget club to the Championship. He’s doing a really good job since taking over at Gillingham since taking over, how many games unbeaten run, they were 14/1 to win division 2 this season and currently sit in the play offs. His style of football is no way near as boring as Moore. He ain’t the best manager, but he’s certainly one of the best we could get at this current time
