2026 Winter Transfer Window

Well summer will be different.

We've had a terrible window.

Part Time Lee has given us a couple of loans generated off a contact from a pre season friendly in a panic. Really do hope they improve the squad but the optics atm is not great for me.

We've managed, with some desperation, to shift players out on loan. Good for the harmony in the dressing room.

I would say our club recruitment is not fit for purpose at the moment. Deals done don't reflect much thought, but JB done the best he can, no doubt.

100% agree!!!

Pearce has to be worth a crack even for league two as the likelihood is we go down, if he could get 2/3 or 1/2 of the goals he has at York it would be a start. Despite the age factor from that point of view I'd take the gamble as long as the fee ain't uber stupid.

Surely York would only let him go for a sizeable fee, with them being top and close to a return to the EFL?

Exactly. seems a silly rumour, i’d be very shocked if we are in for him. Would command probably well over his market value just because of the situation York are in

If no more signings and we are left with the 4 that we have made, I will be left feeling frustrated and angry that we have basically given up our league 1 status and admitted defeat.  Despite what anyone says to me, we are far weaker than on the 1st January.  Losing Curtis, Johnson and Cole, possibly Clarke and replacing them with 2 injury prone players and 2 kids with hardly any experience is the sort of window we would have had under previous owners.  Yes we are 10 points from safety and the likelihood is we would go down but lets go down fighting.  Burton from a very similar position did not give up last season and got out of it, Newport were 12 points from safety with 13 games to go and got out and Leicester the year before they won the league were 7 points from safety with 8 games to go and managed to escape.  We have 20 matches left, if we had made positive signings with experience I feel you never know what would could have happened, 2 very winnable games in 4 days, could easily have been 4/5 points behind.

I keep hearing that players would not join when you are so far adrift, I don't buy into this, maybe on a permanent basis we would not have got quality but a 6 month loan why not, what would they have had to lose.  The likes of Elliott Lee would have been a brilliant signing and the kind we needed not 3 kids with next to no experience.  They might turn out to be another Ollie or Alfie but it should have been both experience and youth.  I remember when we went down under the clown that was Smurthwaite, we got Ryan Taylor, Andre Bikey and Chris Eagles, one or two of these type of players is what we needed, while having an awful side Eagles came very close to keeping us up, some great contributions from him those last few months.

Can't believe Pearce would swap York for Vale. They're on the up. We're not.

Likely to be in the same division next season.

When you look at what other teams are doing and what we are doing it just signals our intention to accept relegation I feel. Would happily have a taken a few of the players that have gone to clubs today. Duncan Whatmore, Tom Bradshaw, Elliot Lee, Mullins. But we are in charity shops again. No denying we have spent money but how can we continually get it so wrong.

Bye rhys😂

Seen this from the resident Sjoke clown Sentinel reporter, Peter Smith -

Smallthorne boy on the move

Joel Ndala looks like he could move from his loan at Hull to a loan at Sheffield Wednesday, from Manchester City.

The 19-year-old winger grew up in Smallthorne and had about two training sessions with Vale before being whipped away by Man City to join their academy.

...is he correct re. Ndala's Vale spell, or just having a cheap dig?!

Remind me of the marquee signings Burton and Newport made last January 🤔

Could be an interesting next 20 minutes with all the rumours swirling around.

I hope Mitch doesn’t go but with him being frozen out and Pete O’Rouke, one of the few reliable sources, reporting on it chances are it’s close to being done. I’m personally hoping they’ve got Mitch’s name confused with Gabriel’s, who was weak as piss once again when he came in at the weekend (and also keeps liking my missus’ pictures on instagram the horny bugger, be fine with it if he was decent).

Paton again I hope he stays, I think he could be useful in the 10. Rotate him and Ben, Hall for me is more of a wide player. However has been frozen out so don’t see it.

If Ollie Pearce was 5 years younger I’d be all over it but, especially in January where prices are likely inflated, this seems a silly signing.

Gutted about Elliot Lee, he was someone I mentioned right at the start of the window but thought was possibly unrealistic. The fact that he has gone to Donny is a bit of a kick in the jewels

I don't know the full ins and outs but he definitely had more than two training sessions...I thought he was with us for 6 months but may be wrong.

Edit -

Here's an article which has a lot about his time with us

Does seem the closer get to the deadline probably get a tweet in next half an hour saying “that concludes our January window business. PS buy your Wimbledon tickets today”…

That'll be Mitch.

Just looking at their club comms today, that is a club that knows what it's doing, generating buzz from new signings.

Our two loan signings yesterday announced with a whimper. Pales in comparison to the good work the Vale comms have done in recent windows.

Absolute clownshow at Vale Park.
