Shorrock ain’t good enough I know he’s scored 2gpod goals but his overall play ain’t good enough that’s why he’s subbed at half time Hart has to start also Byers and Curtis

Good enough at home when we go forward. Hart best option in away games.

He is young, if he did not have to defend. Van der Laan and Swanny, moved roles. Perhaps he could be the next JJ on the wing, (missed 😞)

We are still going up being the champions

come on let’s have it

I think it was a tad unfortunate to be playing carlisle after they had won back to back games for the first time in two years plus a ticket offer to pack the park. Bromley probably felt the same way last week.

Let's see how the fans react to that defeat today .

Let's see how many turn up Mon.

After yesterday I wouldn't be too surprised if more decide to go on a holiday with the family for a few days . We see it every week someone posting a selfie of when they've gone away in football season . I could have sworn I saw some players taking selfies yesterday. I think they saw those signs on the way up highlighting the Lake District and they thought they were having a day off . Same when they went Barrow twice .  Sad days in Cumbria when people expect you to work .

The 3 at the back worst defensive display of the season

An exaggeration, but we know where your agenda heads to.

Blame squarely rested on the defence. They were all awful. It is painful to realise honestly now that we need defenders if we are to be promoted as Division 1 attackers will marmalise those that were chosen at Carlisle. Vale again looked quite a good side WHEN we eventually threw everyone forward so hopefully management may have seen and digested the evidence in front of them to give fans hope that for next season improvement is blatantly obvious in certain positions.  My ticker can't  handle much more upset or roller coaster emotion.

We defend as a team, yes we saw a couple of individual errors from Shorrock, but if the midfield and forwards aren’t taking care of the ball, taking care of runners, not closing down players crosses, then it just adds more pressure that eventually leads to chances.

Byers is the experienced pro who should have handled the pressure better than a player in his first season in the EFL.

Tolaj is having a great half season but I just think that as it was last throw of the dice time Byers should have stood up and taken it.

I thought that's what he was doing when he stood with the ball on the spot.

Sadly he wasn't prepared to take control of the situation.

Byers isn’t the penalty taker though. Why would he go against team orders?

Have you never seen another player protect the penalty taker from the melee before?

I know Byers has come in for stick because his “reputation” but this criticism about him taking a penalty is wide of the mark I think.

While we started OK if a bit slow yesterday, Carlisle had clearly done their homework on us and took pains to eliminate Walters. After a crunching tackle after about 15m he was a ghost of his usual busy self and from that point on our midfield had no glue, they pressed and our passing was hurried and woeful. I cant for one second imagine that our lads will want to repeat that performance against Grimsby, know the opportunity is there to win the league and expect an energetic response. Expect Byers to start, although whether that's for Walters or Garrity who knows.

I agree with those changes. The kids (Walters and Shorrock)have done great but now more experience is needed to get us home.

We showed Carlisle too much respect. Simple- attack and press like we have in the last 2 home games we will beat Grimsby. Sit back and try to play the ball too quickly to Stockley and Tolaj then we lose to Grimsby. Does not matter whether he plays Shorrock or Hart, get the tactics right we win on Monday.

Say that again!

I hope Moore wasn't calling Tolaj out .

Our defensive work lost us that we were quite shambolic all afternoon

In his interview, DM has said he told Tolaj not to worry about it DD, that their keeper made an outstanding save (make your own mind up on that one 🙄

For me, only Mitch Clarke, Stockley and Hart when he came on played to a decent standard, not sure if I could add Walters in with them. The rest of the team had a bad day, so to speak and hopefully that's all it was.  We will find out on Monday. KTF.
