This is the latest update on that front. If Grimsby sold their initial allocation of around 1100 that’s probably not far off 9000 home fans already.

 

We usually come out fighting after a dismal performance. We’ll take care of business on Monday.

Will it be Jeckyl or will it be Hyde? Who the flipping heck knows with Vale? So, so many years fans have endured situations that bite us in the backside after initial promise of better things to come. One thing we can guarantee is that no mortal being can predict what team will turn up or who will stand up to the plate. Exciting, yes. But damn heartstopping too.  Love an unknown don't we ?

I assume their keeper had done his homework on where he placed the last pen he took.

I was hoping Byers would hold onto the ball and take the pen himself.

I watched it on PVTV mon ami mate and it was more that it was poorly taken than anything.

I've seen worse but it was at a height that makes it saveable. He's used up 5p credit from a very healthy bank balance there.

Tolaj well hevery rarely misses.

It's the manner of the 3 goals conceded that lost us the game .

There was no die for the Vale badge defending thats for sure .

All 3 goals were shambolic

Agree, poor pen for me.  Nice height for the keeper, who was tall.  I was amazed when Byers didn’t take it.

Tolaj had taken our last 2 pens & scored them both. From what I can see Byers has never taken a penalty in his professional career. Why the hell would Byers take the penalty??

Fair point.  It looked for all the world as though he’d claimed the ball for himself.  Clearly, he was just attempting to take the heat off Tolaj.  Not a great pen, although you may beg to differ.

Byers is the experienced pro who should have handled the pressure better than a player in his first season in the EFL.

Tolaj is having a great half season but I just think that as it was last throw of the dice time Byers should have stood up and taken it.

I thought that's what he was doing when he stood with the ball on the spot.

Sadly he wasn't prepared to take control of the situation.
