I'd like a repeat of when we beat them 4-3 back in the 70s

Maybe Darren Moore would have to tell the team he had been sacked at half time. That's what Roy Sproson did apparently. 🙂

I'll continue my excellent despondent form. We have Bob hope of winning this one, hook, line and sinker, they will reel us in and batter us.

Goo arn Vale!!

Hope that the trophy is VP as a precaution and the players see before the game. If nothing else can motivate them that surely would.

I think we were 3 nil down after 60 minutes and were 4 - 3 up 10 minutes later. Possibly with Mick  Cullerton getting a hat trick. What a turn round that was. We battered them after that and could have scored a few more.

I wouldn't swear to it but wasn't it 4 - 2 and a Beamish hat trick?

That was the game at their place. I was referring to the game at Vale Park. We were definitely 3 nil down and then scored 4 goals in 10 minutes. Just not sure whether Mick got 2 or 3 of them.

It was Reg Berks who said that I believe

So Grimsby sold 1188 and given 500 more tickets .

Vale sold 8500 already I think I read earlier ,so could be and should be biggest gate of the season v the Mariners on Easter Monday.

Wonder if those who paid a tenner last week will return, you would think they will or maybe they will not .

Anyway bring on next Mon could be pivotal depending on next 48 hrs scoreline

The version I heard was that when they came in at HT, 2-0 down, Roy told them that if they lost he'd get the sack. They went out for the second half and promptly went 3-0 down, then the players noticed that Roy wasn't in the dugout. They turned the game round and won 4-3.

After the match Roy (who hadn't been sacked at all) was in the Directors' Lounge and talking to the chairman; I think it was Mark Singer in those days. 'One question I'd like you to answer', the chairman said, 'why were the players making V signs at the Directors' Box at the end of the match?' 😁

I’m bringing another four to this game. The stars have aligned so that both my kids and dad are available. The last time I did this was Wembley.

Scared we’ll do a classic Vale

A tough game today against a team who we historically struggle against away who need to win to close the gap on staying up. I would take a point today and a win at home on Monday. A win would be huge. It isn’t going to be easy.

Now the new biggest game of the season!
