I wonder who is lined up for Smudge mark 2! Would certainly think we desperately need an other CB.

What's the feeling about Gordon's position? From what I have read on the Walsall forum there's split between those who see him as better as a wingback and those who see him better in the back three.

A lot mention his pace so I wonder if he'd been brought in to add some cover/pace to the back three rather than wingback? Heneghan, Hall and Debrah are not exactly speedkings.

If he is coming into the back three it makes sense both in terms of adding another left footer and adding someone with a bit of pace.

I am totally prepared to be shot down by those with greater knowledge telling me Gordon is definitely a wingback though! I genuinely have no idea!

I'd disagree about Debrah he's quick for a centrehalf. Hall isn't particularly slow. Heneghan is a bit of a snail. I know Gordon has played part of his career as a winger, if he can also play centrehalf who knows what Moore's plans are for him. You'd imagine Moore has a plan for him going forward.  Gordon must know Headley will be a starter and at 26 he is at his footballing peak. I can't imagine he signed without at least a pathway to regular football.

You may have a valid point there Rob looking at this on the Saddlers. Screenshot_20250613_101320_com_opera_browser_BrowserActivity.jpg.9d75e87893128074ed5f0bfa22da885c.jpg

The upthesaddlers website is poorly built (thank goodness for Rob and OVF)… if you follow the quotes in the top right of each post these comments are being made about his potential replacement Evan Weir.

They dont seem to like us, I do, not know why, maybe because .....

For me, they had a good team, but messed it up.

Happens in all of life, they need to work on Walsall, no need to worry about League One Port Vale 🙂

I think an additional reason is that they see their defeat to us as a pivotal moment. After looking like they might blow us away early doors, I think they were shocked how easily and comfortably we controlled the second half.

I think they knew then that they were in trouble.  Before that they had assumed it would come good again

Notice you lot are still over excited about Walsalls unfortunate half a season. 😡😡

I've got a massive feeling a lot of vale fans will have egg on their face in a couple of seasons when the saddlers have the national league wrapped up by the new year

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nah, their prolific loan striker will get recalled in January (again) and they will sink without a trace (again).

.......its known as Deja f.u. !

I said at the end of the season , I will be amazed if Shorrock is still a Vale player at the start of the season.

I’m convinced we will get really good deal for him to help us build in L1.

I was also convinced we would sign Iky and Micheal Smith. What do i know😂😂

I agree with you about Shorrock, despite what some might think about him(lets remember some on here wanted Dipepa sent to Leek Town),a fair few clubs higher up have shown interest in him

IF it comes that we sell Shorrock at some point please please please Vale invest the money in Taylor Allen, just for the fact Smallsall will go into complete meltdown and it will be an absolute delight to watch

Even Bolton are taking a punt on a non league striker signing one from felixstowe and walton on a 2yr deal

Is this the same Shorrock that's 18 yrs old, and IMO a potentially great talent. Scorer of what many people think was the goal of the season v Crewe?  I for one hope that he isn't out of the frame!

Compared to Headley and Gordon for me he's 3rd choice purely based on know how and experience.

I don't mean dumped, I just don't see him at their levels,  yet.

Not sure as too early in their (especially Shrok) careers. Both have skill and technique to potentially be a winger but neither are blessed with pace.

I'd say both are fairly quick players, Shorrock possibly more so than plant......they're Usain Bolt compared to Connor Grant

They've both got that pace over 3 or 4 yards. That's all you need as a winger. Anyone remember a lad by the name of Steve Guppy? Don't need pace if you put the fullback on his arse...
