Refereed us against Morecambe this season away.

And he was garbage.  'Your Dad was <ovf censored>, and so are you' and 'How <ovf censored> must you be? You're worse than your Dad' were sang that afternoon if I remember rightly.

I watched it on TV that afternoon but I don't recall anything particularly controversial...

Trevor Kettle in that FGR game wasn't great but then was good for us against Crawley in his last outing with us! 😄

Yeah, he was better than Roger Milford. 😂

Don't recall him doing anything wrong to be honest.

Other than him having the unlikely  name of Zac Stoke City Kettle all officials are pretty much standard in League 2 with the odd exception. So I doubt he's any worse than what's gone before.

That said standard begins with S and ends in T.

I liked the Notts County one we had, Rodrigues purely after his TV appearance explaining his decision, it was refreshing and it at least allows you to understand why they make a decision, I don't know why it isn't done more often, even if you dont agree with the decision if they say what they felt they saw or how they interpreted it you can at least go "Fair enough".

If the ref from Saturday says he didn't see the hands pull Stockley over or felt he went down too easily for the pen shout then at least you can see why he didn't give it.

Not sure I'd go that far, but we've certainly had more than our fair share of 'mini-jobsworths' that like the match to be more about them by blowing up for minor infringements instead of letting the games flow more naturally!

Let's see if can guess the team.

Surely he as players chomping at the bit on bench who want game minutes .

Hackford be fresh ,and he as shown on his day he is a very useful player to play .

Jerry the lads put a ball to R C, suggests he as a bit of that quality you need in games .Surely, he is ready now to show what he is all about I'd love it if he scored a few .

Harper strange he plays very well v Salford ,then disappeared out the team ,however young Walters has done well in the games he as replaced him in  but I'd expect tonight Walters be on bench,  will George Byers be playing i hope so, if not Harper could be vying for a starting place .

Rico Richards he as that something in spurts, however he also has played extremely well when starting on occasions like Wimbledon ,when raced into 2 nil lead etc etc etc ,he must be fresh to give Vale fans the energy we want to see ..

Chislett well he as always for me gives us that oomph ,more often than not ,he must be fresh he ain't played a full game for a eternity wouldn't like think when he last started .

Hart I think also ok defensively he ain't totally secure, however he as that quality going forwards, if we on front foot surely he should excel with the ability he as .

So there's 6 who could be contention to start a game, to freshen the team up could add Shorrock to that aswell, but he must be better when on ball and go past his man with the tenacity required if selected and not put ball out of play at times .

The team I think Moore will put out

        Amos

Debrah Smith Hall

Clark.                 John

      Walters   Croasdale

             Garrity

     Tolaj Hackford

For some reason I think he may go with Hackford personally, if they play with a 38 year old at the back I'd be going with pace also ,so wouldn't be surprised if that's one change, I'd expect BG is ready to go and boy can he go, so thats another change, and Smith in for Sang I should imagine as long cross field ball won't be required tonight ,I should imagine and there a threat with that big talented lad who scored the third in cup and one  in the 4-0 freak scoreline and Smith usually thrives v big units

So let's see nothing more say .

At 18.30 when players arrive to get ready Moores pre match talk should consist of very few words

4 -0 it's there in black and white

On the board

What you going do about it

No motivation should be needed

It's there in front of your eyes

Honestly forget the ref, we just need to focus on being good enough to take him out the equation which if we are a serious promotion contender we should be.

As long as we don’t get the one that didn’t know there’s no goal line technology in league two, even though the fact that he wasn’t wearing the watch would have been a bit of a clue.

He was excellent throughout the game. The other really good ref in recent memory was against Mk dons the other week. In the main though the standard is getting worse from an already terrible level

If we want automatic promotion then we have got break the Tuesday night curse of not winning a home league game for 3 years and only winning 1 Tuesday night game out the last 25. We probably need win  at least 4 of our remaining 5 home games so could do with winning either this game tonight or the Bradford one next Tuesday night. All the 4 away games are tough and we probably need win 2 of them. Crewe going for the play offs, Walsall going for the title or top 3, Carlisle fighting to avoid relegation and Wimbledon going for automatic promotion.

It’s not just the Tuesday night at home monkey we need off our backs but 12:30 kick-offs too (whatever the day of the week) - how many of those home or away have we won in the last 3 or 4 years? We have two Tuesday nighters and at least two 12:30s (Wimbledon being a potential 3rd). If we don’t break both of these no/low-win trends we can probably kiss going up automatically goodbye.

If we want automatics, playing a side with nothing to play for, 17th in the table at this stage of the season we have to get the points, take some pressure of the next 3 with a win tonight.
