So was I, I also watched the game from the Lorne street and saw where he was live. The two defenders did well to disrupt his attempt on goal too

Jesus Christ !   You didn't notice him with the bloody floodlights reflecting off his bald head ?  It was like a Lighthouse at times . He needs a bobble hat for night matches .

Must be doing something right, currently 6th. Having played less games, than anyone in the top 15. With only 13 games to go. Or were you expecting us to walk the league?

I just think we should not expect to have games in hand assumed as points in the bag.

Leeds beat Harrogate 1-0 .

There are no gimmes in football .

Game isn't played on paper it's played on the day .

TUESDAY unfortunately .

What is it with Vale on Tuesday night's.

Morecambe beat Wimbledon

Barrow beat Notts County

Carlisle drew with Walsall

Bromley beat Doncaster and Doncaster had 26 goal attempts so looked to me like they played ever so well .

Liverpool beat PSG ,a unbelievable result on what game I watched till half time, If  psg were 6 up at half time no one could have said they didn't deserve it because they did, they flowed tremendously ,and I know Lpool won but I still think PSG will go through .

Vale if any of the coaching staff read threads have to work on 3 things this week

Corners why ain't our best headers of the ball getting on end of corners .

Is the movement poor

Is the ball in poor

Is the desire to get on end of the ball in not there

Work on it let's score from our next one .

Quick free kicks don't give teams time get in there shape look for that quick one catch them out

Finishing taking shots from everywhere I'd like see Vale having more shots .

Just doing them 3 things could improve our goalscoring.

What is it 33 games played 42 goals scored for a team with as much ability as ours thats a shambles I'd be setting the clubs players a target of a overall 70 by end of season thst means 28 in last 13 .

I've been counting again lol

Well that post was reactionary right after the whistle. I do think right now Moore is doing the bare minimum considering the squad he has at his disposal. But we've lost the least amount of games in the league. So we're not far away from being a really good side.

So frustrating last night, definite penalty from Curtis' shot early in the 2nd half, the defenders arm was in an unnatural position, away from his body making himself bigger. Definite foul on Rico but he was outside the box.

Apart from these two decisions I thought the ref was OK, didn't really notice him all night although because of the two crucial wrong decisions I can see why he's got a lot of stick from Vale fans.

Have to disagree Paul. We certainly heard his whistle regularly. He lost the plot with their feigned injuries on numerous occasions, and the one where the guy was walking towards the dugouts and then did a U-turn and trudged towards the paddock instead was very weak refereeing.

He loved the sound of his own whistle, often for the most petty things like the ball being 10 millimetres from where he wanted it to be.

It's week in week out. 1 penalty again all season, numerous reds ,Bromley, Curtis rescinded card.

I get that mistakes happen they are human but the standards of officiating are plummeting.

One of the so called elite, Oliver , even had to use VAR to send the Millwall keeper off after his assault on Mateta. That decision alone should see him stood down for a month.

Arne Slot has been watching the Vale and it gave him an idea. Keep it tight at the back and then try to nick a goal. 😂👍

Hardly. If he left tomorrow I wouldn't shed any tears. But it's factual that we have the least losses in the entire league. Turn a few of those draws into wins and we would be in the top 2 or 3.

Given it a couple of days before posting to let it sink in.

First half was okay - not amazing but decent enough. We play some good stuff and had a few chances. Better first half than normal so at half time I was feeling positive. Second half was poor though. Can we not play a good 90?

What annoyed me however was DMs comments on RS after the game. He said that our shots were in ‘double digits’ and so the fans could see we were attacking. I would expect us to get to double digits at a minimum. It always annoyed me how we would come out of games having had 9 shots, look over at Walsall who had managed shots in the 20s. That comment for me shows just how negative a manager he is.

Two seasons ago my missus started coming with me and got really into it. Even ended up getting a season ticket despite the fact that we’re weren’t amazing. I told her we would be much better this season because we’re a bigger team in the league. Even though we are in the play off/promotion mix, she’s got bored of the crap football and has started to go and watch ice hockey instead.

My point here is that this style of football is not going to entice people to come again.

I’m so bored of this football. I’ve said all  along we will make the play offs and might even sneak 3rd, but it’s just not entertaining to watch.

I don’t buy into the ‘if rather win a boring 1-0 than an entertaining draw or even loss’. If we were losing every week fair enough but as others have pointed out a win and a loss is better than two draws.

I genuinely don’t mind us losing if we’ve shown intent and given it a right good go. Football will go on forever and we’ll go up and come back down again countless times. So I want to be entertained. I’ve got my tin hat on as I know not everyone will agree but at the end of the day I buy season tickets, cup and away tickets, shirts, food, away travel, and much more, as well as giving up my Saturdays for most of the year. I love the Vale and will support n matter what but that doesn’t mean I should have to accept boring football or non entertainment.

Nice post.

I have an idea of how all of this can be solved, not just for Port Vale supporters, but for football supporters everywhere! Let's move to 5 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 2 bonus points if you score 3+ goals.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED

If they do manage get through v PSG I think there names on it couldn't believe what I was watching Liverpool couldn't get near them ,and Allison kept saving them ,and then the ball would rebound ,and twice they thumped it over the bar ,when if they had composure they had of scored twice easily in that half ,and I think there centre half was no bigger than 4 foot 10, and he was doing everything passing ,moving ,everything was coming through him ,maybe Vale need play Byers as that back man and he do what the PSG back player was doing, and once the ball reached that player who scored the offside goal wow what a player reminds me of chizzy lol ,brilliant

PSG just attacked and I thought they were  fantastic ,and if I was a follower /supporter of them even though lost I'd have come out that stadium absolutely buzzing with the way they played, like Vale at Man City that time ,yeah we lost but I really enjoyed it ,atmosphere ,popes goal ,so let's not have the idea that folk cannot enjoy games where defeat is the outcome, as long as they see what they want see as a spectacle .

The chorus of boos said it all ar full time Tues ,I just walked out I'm not inclined boo ,I just get out me seat and go quietly ,I'm not going applaud thst second half it wasn't anywhere near good enough
