You’d keep him if we fail to go up? Seriously? For what reason?

The football is dire and has been since he took over. His style is grinding out results but extremely dour on the eye. If we fail to go up I’m not sure what positive can be spun on it.

Big budget, big squad, a couple of big money signings and a fair few players clearly above this level. Has wasted our most talented players throughout until injuries fotved his hand. Look, I’m not a fan of him as manager at all; as it’s clear to all on here but even if I’d expect us to be going up this season and if not then someone else should have a go.

You’ve obviously got a seriously short memory.  We were absolute garbage last season, and dire the season before, so to expect any manager to turn that around, even with decent financial backing, is a big ask.  Not every signing will come off for a start.  To build a squad takes time, unless you’re  lucky.  You can throw plenty of money around and it guarantees nowt.  Carlisle have done it in the last few windows,  MK longer than that.  Moore has got us in the mix in 2 windows and January was fairly tame to be honest .  My prediction was top 10 and it’s looking like we’ll finish top 7.  Can’t see us in the top 3 due to goals scored, but that’s on player recruitment rather than tactics in my view.  Play offs are a lottery, as we know.

Bottom line, how many relegated teams get promoted the season  after?  Give me some numbers.

DD is your man for numbers, but he is away for the weekend - he might have mentioned it 🤣🤣🤣🤣image.gif.f9e30258fb43f77a5a24001fa0466739.gif

I'm not saying we have to sack him but do we think he's the man to keep us in league one if we do get promoted?

I think he has got as good a chance as the last two managers we had in league one (and im a DC fanboy)

There will be plenty who will say no but we would have to see what squad he went in with, also if he was struggling then he would be sacked...... lets get there first though 🙂

If we lose in the play offs, which is a total lottery, then he deserves another shot. IMO.

However, I still think we’ll get automatic

That’s a fair comment. I’d rather he go if we fail in the play offs as I doubt he will have as much backing next season and I really can’t see him improving us next season. Saying that, I think Carol will back him no matter where we end up this season.

It’s the style for me that just sways it. Normally I’d agree, play offs are somewhat a lottery like you say, but the football on show is so poor I feel it should either be promotion or the door.

Very true. I found the football more entertaining under Crosby in a higher division with a poorer squad yet he got crucified by a lot of our fans.

Agree. If we go up this season he has to be given a chance but if struggling next season come January he has to go, none of this sticking by him because he got us promoted.

Yes we were garbage under Moore as well, worse than under Crosby. The squad was bad, but we needed so few points to stay up with fixtures against sides around us and didn’t turn up to any of the games. Just sat there waiting to be beat. Squad was bad like I say but I expected so much more with an experienced manager.

I understand the numbers. But we had a fantastic start and were quite a long way ahead. I’m not having the squad taking time to gel as an argument. We’re what 35 games into a season, we have some of the best players in the division and Moore has had a very large budget. Signing players for large fees like Tolaj. If the squad gelling is an issue then that is entirely down to the manager. Swapping the side every week, playing everyone out of position for 5 minutes here there. We’ve seen what’s happened with Tolaj and Curtis now there is finally some consistency with selection.

I think seeing how poor the standard has been across the board and our strong start makes where we sit less impressive in my view. I have literally enjoyed 2 games that I have seen this season, that’s it. Every game is 0-0 or 1-0. For me, with the football being so poor it’s promotion or sack. I’m not sure what another season what prove? He’s shown this is his style with no exceptions. We still don’t attack weak sides and still set up the same if away at county or home to Accrington. As I say the style is the thing making it more clear for me. If we played attractive football and were in a similar position I could get behind keeping him if we fall just short, I just can bear another season of this in league 2

I think the next two games are pivotal and will tell us a lot about the team and managers desire to win. Both games are difficult, but will we get 6..4..2..1 or 0 points. 🤔🤔🤔
