I can't speak for him but I imagine his assumption is based on the shelf life of a modern day football manager. Our own DC had a 5 year deal dished out that lasted a year. Was it Pardew who had a multi year contract that was futile.

I too would be amazed to see DM here in 2029 , purely as football is so reactionary and fraught with sackings or mutual consents. 

I have no inside knowledge of contracts etc but as I said before there will absolutely be clauses written in. Otherwise it's bankruptcy for clubs with that mindset. Stoke are bank rolled or they'd be another Bury with all the money that daddy gives to Gollum to play with. 

No way would Vale pay a 5 year contract were he hypothetically  sacked in the summer, likewise DM will have good solicitors who have advised him wisely on the deal we offered.

Firstly thank you for the kind words

As for the second assertion i made,it's obvious that is guess work on his tenure but i doubt very much DM will be our manager in 5yrs time because either he will be sacked if we struggle at some point or we are successful and another club poaches him because some wont like it but he is a proven steady manager.

As for the not costing as much as some think to pay him off,that is to those who often say we have 4yrs pay up if he is sacked etc well it's simple we wont pay anywhere near that,I dont have to say but i will,i aren't privvy to the contracts that's obvious but any contract will have clauses in the managers favour in some cases and in ours in other cases a clause could be we pay up 6mths or 3mths or a little more or even we pay a manager until they get another job,there are plenty of clauses put into contracts these days but very much unlike the premier league where they pay millions out when they sack someone.

There will i think also be clauses in the backroom team with there being 300 of them 🙂 although even if they all have 6mths paid up then the job lot could be expensive

Been there, did a great job but no thanks. There are better managers at this level, which ones are available I don’t know but I’d have it a guess there will be some available come the end of the season especially for the money we pay Moore and his team.

I think we need a new manager but I don’t think our owners will, I think Moore will be here next season even if we don’t make the play offs.

Back the team and the manager when at the matches - 100% but voice your opinions and frustrations on an open forum. 

Anyway if we got a new manager unless he wins 6 nil every game it wont be long before the usual will be wanting him out and hijacking every thread to make there point.
