Newport were better than us first half and deserved to be at least one up, we were very lucky when there shot hit the inside of the post then the goalie to go out for a corner.

If that goes in, they don't get a corner that they immediately score from, so doesn't mean they'd have scored 3.

I wouldn't say they were better than us, we had more chances than them. Level at half time would have been fair.

Ultimately though, the game is played over 90 minutes. So I think you'll struggle to find anyone that would disagree we deserved to win overall. We were on a different level at times, despite the ref trying his hardest to give them an advantage.

They created 2 good chances second half they'll probably be disappointed not to have scored from. If both sides were more clinical, it could have ended up 6 - 3.

No. He started 4 wing backs and Lowe at home. I don’t rate him as a manager I’ve made that quite clear. We won at Doncaster because of some good tactics in a kind of match he excels in. Yesterday I thought we won in spite of Moore

We also finished with 4 wing backs and ALL four would be in everyones top five vote for man of match.

Understand the need for a balanced back three. Smith center, ALL us fans tell D.M. that Smith cannot play on right so John given the role. Hart, left footed, on the left. First choice Hall injured.

Lowe good game at Doncaster , All us fans dont want too many changes every week and Harper expected to only manage 45 mins max.

Hackford did as much as anyone to give us a win at Doncaster, us fans again dont want too many changes so stick with Tolaj and Hackford up front

Problem was Hall, Lowe, Hackford all had awful first half performances. Hackford should maybe of scored in first two mins. There were other poor performances too, not just the three mentioned.

Changes second half and straight away Garrity and Croasdale looked like additions to tolaj and Stockley in four attacking players.

The runs from Headley on Left and Clarke and John on right were what we have been missing ALL season. They are the players that have to create our chances. Great team performance from then on. ** Stated one month ago, the players we need back in team and performing well are Clarke and John, more so than Byers, because they are needed to drive us forward and up the pitch. Headley may prove to be a real bonus, although his defending may be suspect so a left sided back three player is a must to support him.

Dont be surprised for changes again on Saturday. Are Chesterfield a bigger, more direct team. If yes Hall and Henegan possible both added to back three, or does he leave John there ?

Can Harper play 90 mins, will Byers be fit

Has to be Stockley and Tolaj up front.

(Some) fans: Drop Heneghan and put Smith in the middle!

DM: *Drops Heneghan, puts Smith in the middle*

(Some) fans: What's this team selection, why isn't Heneghan playing? Moore out!

Opinions !!!!

Understandable if they are different fans to each quote

Giving or receiving?😋😄👍

It's getting to the point where:

  • If Port Vale are losing, we are a disgrace. Awful performance. Boos ring around Vale Park. Completely on Moore.
  • If Port Vale are winning, things are great. We must have played well if we're winning. Oh When The Whites. The players have bailed out Moore.

It's whiplash reactions to the scoreline. Sometimes teams lead or trail when they don't deserve it. That's why football is so addictive. There's so few goals in it, a game can turn on it's hard against the run of play and completely without merit.

People aren't even looking at performances anymore. Just constructing rough narratives around goals - often to justify points they've made on OVF and can't possibly change their mind on. Score goal good. Concede goal bad. Violently swing every time the net bulges. Boos to vociferous support.

It's becoming absolutely ridiculous. I know I'm banging on but I was in complete disbelief at the boos yesterday. If we'd passed backwards at 0-0 it would have been different, or if Hackford had sorted his feet out and we were 1-0 there wouldn't have been a murmur, but because we'd conceded there was blokes red in the face with rage.

Genuinely, if you watch the first half back you'll see a lot of ponderous possession from them and two set-piece goals, and 5-6 good chances for us and a set-piece goal. We weren't great, but it wasn't this war crime some are making it out to be.

We just need a bit of consistency. I wouldn't lose any sleep if Darren Moore went tomorrow, but we really need to settle down within games and get off the players' backs every time we concede a goal.

Days ain’t gone with starting your strongest 11, most teams do it. I’ll give you the Sang sub but the others were obvious and shouldn’t have been needed. Even if Stockley and Harper could play 90 minutes and I doubt you are correct regarding Stockley, they should have started and had at least an hour but anyway, Sang in the center is a better option than Lowe as is Richards if he is fit and still with us.

We lost the first half because the tactics and team selection were wrong, luckily we turned it around in the second half. You can try and defend that firs5 half team selection but I will disagree.

The selection is up for debate, what i can say for certain is that the performances of the players in question - Hart , Lowe . Hackford was very poor while they were on the pitch.

Lowe and Hackford had just come off good performances and us fans dont want change for changes sake and Hart played due to Hall not being fit and D.M. wanted a left sided player, with height, to play behind Headley

Don’t know what happened to cover , but I would of played him in his natural position Midfield instead of Lowe

I didn’t know that I thought RWB was his natural position. Is that were he plays at Leicester?

Too lightweight to play CM for us in my opinion.

I am. We've only won 3 league games in just under 3 months. All by a single goal, and with a great deal of luck at relegation threatened Morecambe.

I enjoyed the game.

Lethargic start (the players not me) but still created enough chances to score at least 1. Why were we so lethargic to start with ? Who knows... lacking confidence in front of a quiet and often critical home crowd, Newport enjoying the wide open spaces and quite atmosphere and more determined on the back of some recent poor defeats?

After their first goal we seemed to up our game and grab a deserved equaliser but then suffered the setback of their second goal through some fairly tragic defending from a couple of individuals.

The booing was poor from the crowd but its the modern day supporter I guess.... anyone at Burnley when we 7-0 down at half time and still sang John McGraths name ? Ok that's a bit extreme but its how the world has changed.

2nd half we tore into them and got a much deserved 3 points.  I thought Clark was fantastic linking up very well with John. Headley on the other flank got the winner so the set up kind of justified itself in the end. I could see what DM was trying to having the two wide defenders good on the ball (john and Hart) in itself would make us more attacking but unfortunately Hart had a poor game and slipped for their second goal...

A midfield 3 of Croasdale,  Garrity and Harper will see us in the the top 7 I m sure, just got to hope they stay injury free but i would be tempted to throw sang in there as first choice back up if one is out injured. Unfortunately we've just had Croasdale ploughing a valiant furrow down the middle in recent times which has been the root cause of our troubled spell I think.

2 wins on the bounce, all to play for. Lets try and make it a better atmosphere at Vale if we can instead of sitting on our hands waiting to criticise.

Why look at just the last 3 months, as it seems you’re doing?  What about prior to that or maybe the last 3 games?

There's spin and then there's that.

Are we supposed to just pretend over 30% of the season didn't happen and doesn't count?
