Port Vale v Newport Co match thread - 18th Jan

Featured Replies

Just had a watch of the highlights. When Jameson was sent off the ref only showed a straight red card. Usually they show the second yellow then the red to confirm a sending off.
just another weird refereeing act or did he deem it a straight red?

The manager can't play everyone in a front two. If Paton plays there then either Tolaj or Stockley don't. When he has started up front he hasn't really impressed. Stockley and Tolaj look to be the two who should now be the preferred front pairing. With Paton, the new lad and Hackford as the ones on the bench to maybe coming on later.

Tolaj didn't look good until he was given consistent game time. Paton should be sent on loan.

Smith headed it down not Croasdale

Fair play was a lovely set up it happened so quickly haven't watched the highlights can only go of who I thought it may be as was admiring the quality of ball in by Tolaj  in hamil ,what was he doing up there superb play .

That's what we want though it was excellent and just shows positive play brings positive outcomes .

The rules are a bit different for yellows and reds, including what it means for suspensions as well. So probably deemed it a straight red. Just because player was on a yellow doesn’t mean it has to be yellow then red.

Earlier in the season Tolaj was playing regular and was scoring and assisting he looked good then. For some reason he was dropped out of the side and seemed to lose confidence. Looking much better now he is back in up top.

I thought at the time he showed a red, then as he was walking off he showed a yellow as well. He may have meant to show a yellow 1st then a red and realised his mistake so showed the yellow to emphasise the nature of the sending off.

I honestly think booing 20 minutes into a home game is amongst the most embarrassing things this fanbase has done since that clown flew that plane on the wrong day years ago.

Same for jeering Hart.

Poorly, poorly people.

It was very noticeable well DM hooked off Hart they virtually never came in to our half again. Well done Tom Sang.

He was outstanding .

We have really good players I felt Harper, Garrity, and Croasdale were too good ,for Newport and thats the first time the 3 have played together .

It's quite exciting that we can only get better .

Walsall may be 14 points ahead but I think Vale can get after them .

You can see thst Tolaj and Stockley, were beginning to click yesterday, and Clark Johns and Headley strong running at opposition mentality is fantastic .

Vale for me can still finish top. I'm sure of not sure enough  put money on it, but I think there's no way Walsall are 14 points better than us by end of season

Hahaha the Kraken awakes! Thought you had me on ignore?

Surprised you can actually write instead of doing the worried face reaction? Been to night school?

Think you've also proved my point. Well done.

Would you like to meet up and you can try calling me a racist to my face? Odious runt!

That is true and I will give credit to Moore for making the changes early. But I have no idea how a professional and experienced manager thought that starting 11 would work today.

Yet in the first half we created loads of chances? If we had converted them (players fault not Moores) we would have been cruising.

DM changed the team and we won.

The players uping their efforts helped! 😏

Sounds about right. The ref didn’t seem to know his arse from his elbow at times, so one card for another isn’t surprising.

Thought the ref was decent in the first half and then it was as if they changed the ref at half time- he was shocking in the second half.

Tolaj has obvious room for improvement in his game, but we're clearly a better team when he starts. Him and Stockley is the way to go, that's a real handful for any defense. Clark and Headley as wing-backs are excellent - We can all only hope that Mitch can stay clear of injury now as he's a League One level player when actually fit. Get Byers in that midfield at last, replacing Lowe, and we're capable of going on another run, regardless of what we think or don't think of Darren Moore.

If Hackford sorts his feet out 30 seconds in we probably win the game 4/5-0.

Instead he spurned three chances alone, Garrity scuffed two, we ballsed a few set pieces and the narrative was set that we were ‘garbage’ as the boos rang out.

It wasn’t great but was genuinely nowhere near as bad as folk make out.
