There's spin and then there's that.

Are we supposed to just pretend over 25% of the season didn't happen and doesn't count?

And last season.

Why look at just the last 3 months, as it seems you’re doing?  What about prior to that or maybe the last 3 games?  Even taking the Crewe and Walsall games, we were a tad unlucky you could argue.  Playing a semi fit Harper probably cost us all 3 points v Crewe and a freak gust of wind or goalkeeping error, you choose, cost us a point v Walsall.  There was nothing in either game, in fact against Crewe we looked very comfortable until the sending off.  The only real shocker for me was Grimsby.  No getting away from the fact that losing key players has hit us over the period you’re talking about.

One concern over the last few months was not creating many chances, we now look like that’s improving.  The problem lately appears to be conceding from set pieces.  That’s football, there’s always a problem to solve.

I still think fans don’t appreciate how difficult it is to turn around the mess from last season, even with a decent transfer pot.  Moore has his work cut out to compete with teams established at this level, some of which have very decent budgets.  Carlisle must’ve spent a small fortune over the last 3 windows.

A lot of fair points.

Controlling the midfield is key to increasing the number of chances we make... The midfield  three we finished up with against Newport will certainly help in that respect.

No, it counts, just like the other % you seem to be disregarding.  No idea why that should be.  We’ve played about 50%ish of the season and find ourselves third currently despite a bad spell.  Good fortune alone hasn’t got us there.

Don’t know what happened to cover , but I would of played him in his natural position Midfield instead of Lowe

Cover was in full kit being tested sprinting on the stopwatch at about 2.45 yesterday. I assumed he was a sub. The fact he wasn't but was doing fitness work suggests he still in the picture?

I really like him although he's naive at times.

We've won 3 in 12. 2 of those 3 were against very poor sides and we still nearly managed to bungle it (Should have been losing at Morecambe before our scrambled 3 yard winner, conceding 2 horrific goals yesterday.) Players are shoehorned out of position, there's rumoured dissent in the camp. Baffling decisions are repeatedly made vis a vis starting line ups and setting up like we're away at a top 6 prem side in the cup every week. Is it really any wonder fans aren't getting Moore printed on their shirts?

We all know the stats but I m struggling to see what point you are trying to make? What do you want to happen next then ?

Just watched it again. Red first, then the camera pans away to focus on the player.
may have given a yellow after but definitely red first. Won’t make any difference to the result but could help other teams who play them afterwards.

How bizarre. I’ve just watched the highlights and it’s clear as day he shows the yellow first, quickly followed by the red. So not sure what highlights you watched. 🤷‍♂️

We’ve also won 12 out of 26, which is surely the most important, is it not?

I can see what you’re trying to say, but you’re deliberately picking our worst run of the season, which also coincided with losing our two best midfielders players (and team captain)

Our most recent form is good.

Our overall season performance is decent.

I’m not a huge fan of Moore, but if he gets us up, however he does it, he’s done a good job.

Hi George.
I watched the one on YouTube from Port Vale Fc. I only ask because it would mean a 3 rather than 1 match ban.
maybe the clip is from a different angle or camera. Who knows why it varies.
got the 3 points and currently 3rd so job done. Have a peek if you can as it seems a strange one.  Unless it’s my old eyes playing tricks🤣

I think that's sometimes the case for players not in the squad. Debrah did the same thing against Cheltenham I think.

That I find the perplexment expressed by some that many fans aren't huge fans of Mooreball perplexing in itself given the relegation form demonstrated for a large, sustained chunk of the season, alongside the permanent negative dour football first halves, and players left out to dry in positions they shouldn't be.

Think he gets 3 as I believe it’s his third red of the season (2 of which are against us!)

You’re going round in circles.  What did we win before those 12 games?  Moore had 2 manager of the month awards, what did he get them for? Good behaviour?  We were top for weeks on end until the wheels came off, which coincided with injuries.  Dress it up how you like but we aren’t a bad team and that’s because of Moore rather than in spite of.  We’ve just had a good win away at one of our promotion rivals followed by a good home win coming from behind.  Why not fill your glass up to the half way mark?

I don't think anyone is perplexed that fans aren't huge fans of Moore. I'm not sure any Vale fan is enamoured with him, and no one seems to be demanding we all love him.

I get the points you're making but you're drawing arbitrary lines in the season. As others have said, we were in title-winning form for a bit longer than we were in relegation form. It's not fair to simply zone in on the bit of the season which suits the argument you're trying to make, and then completely ignore the sections which contradict it.

I said after the Cheltenham home game that I was quite happy for Moore to depart as I have serious doubts about how he'll cope as smaller fish in the League 1 pond, but the reality is that we're third and when we have our captain available are nigh-on unbeatable. There's a load of flaws but it's probably best to let this season run its course and see where we are. There's a genuine chance we go up.

That's consistency...👍
